Wigan to sign Gleeson?

To be honest I think IL wants him signed for the Saints game and is not overly concerned about Barrow. However, he will wan t to announce it SAP to get extra fans through the turnstiles v Saints and yo allow Martin to train with his new team.

Sure, but it's not so much Barrow as whoever we draw in subsequent rounds. Even if he doesn't play for Wire tomorrow, and does sign next week, he won't be eligible for Cup games until the semi-final (should we get that far!).

It Wire cup tie Gleeson I cannot see IL going through with the deal. There is a lot of brinkmanship in this move. Wire need to sell Gleeson to stop him walking off scot free in 2010, Wigan want Gleeson for the rest of 2009.

The thought about cup-tying Gleeson has crossed my mind. Wire like us probably have the best chance of success in the cup. They hardly want him lining up against them do they?

Getting Gleeson but cup-tied is no good for 2009. May as well wait and get him for free in 2010.

According to posts on cherry and whites: its been on GMR tonight about 20:20 that wigan have signed gleeson in time for sundays game.With more reports to follow. Posssible announcement from club tomorrow afternoon

We'll see; GMR aren't always the most reliable source. I'd have thought some of the websites would have picked it up by now, but nothing yet. I'll see if SKYSports News at ten has anything.

Just looked on Sky text, report on Gleeson in Warrington squad for Saturday, but uunderneath indicates that a possible move to Wigan is for him would be on loan!!

Has anyone else heard this? First time I've heard of it being a loan deal.

Think they are getting confused with us wanting to loan Goulding to make space the best part of this would be if Mathers leaves, I wish the lad well but he was just wasting cap money for us. The news should break tomorrow .

So as Gleeson has been announced in the Warrinton squad, is this just a bit of brinkmanship by warrington then?

The 19-man squad is fairly irrelevant anyway, and was announced yesterday, before any (alleged) signing.

I can't bak up Pieeater Alex in terms of I have know idea where we are with Gleeson but Warrington announced there squad on Wednesday evenin with Gleeson in it so I think it bears no relevance they named him in it

This story was in the Mirror yesterday, they said Gleeson may sign on loan until the end of the season, freeing him up then to accept any offers which may arise from the NRL.
