I hope as a loan deal not permanently.
If not a loan then if I were Goulding I'd join Mathers on strike!
Signed on Friday at 3pm apparently. Confirmed by a club employee and Gleeson's Dad. To me? No. Someone else who is VERY confident of that they are saying. We shall see.

Reserves played today and he wasn't in their squad or the academy come to that.
good god barrow must be prayin tonight that he plays!!
He's got a pulled hamstring and is out for a month. By all accounts he's given his all to for Wigan, that may sound daft but a mate of mine went on a stag doo for Danny Ward in October and Ritchie went also.
Ritchie hardly drank and apologised for beig a party pooper but he wanted to work hard all winter and make sure he was in the best possible shape for this year.
He has been commited every game I've seen him in, his only problem is he is severley lacking in confidence and as a FB having fragile confidence is an attribute you can't afford to have.

What i cant understand with Mathers is that towards the end of last season he was getting better. Against cats in the playoffs he played well. I cant see how in the close season he has gone back to square one. I know he didnt play until the friendlies etc but its something that he needs to sort. If he does stay and i cant see it myself he will have to expect a few games in reserves to sort himself out. But as i said i think he will be on his way!!.
Good attitude but you cant win games on attitude alone!!
I'd find it difficult to believe that anybody would take Mathers in a loan deal. Not becuase he's rubbish, but because he's injured with a hernia. Why would Warrington take him, unless it's a front for a dodgy deal and a bit of smoke and mirror.
Whether Gleeson comes or not, it's not the answer for our problems. We should be looking for a quality prop, not a quality centre/

Agree about the prop thing. If Ritchie only requires a minor rest or surgery to sort a hernia it shouldn't stop an interested team taking him. Tony Smith had him at Leeds and if he can back himself to get the best out of him I can see why he would be interested.

I have argued for a while our recruitment seems event driven rather than planned.
"Oooh look, Gleeson's available we will have him" - meanwhile the pack gets battered every week!
Roberts was taken on a year early and so filled the quota up so we could not move for Bird if we wanted to so why was that done?
And we gave Phelps a new deal showing no faith in the young players and Ainscough is now keeping him out of the team. And Tomkins is a far better bet than Smith.
We seem to be "collecting" players rather than having a recruitment plan because if we can afford Gleeson how come we could not move for the likes of Ryles and Carvell?
I know people have pretty much confirmed that we have Gleeson and are just waiting for an annoucement. I have had a look in the league express and Gleeson didn't play last week against Celtics, So as per Tony Smith's comments of Gleeson and Morley just being rested, why would a player need to be rested two weeks in a row, if not injured??
