Congratulations Kris Radlinski MBE,

I first took notice of him when he won the man of the match award "The Harry Sutherland Trophy" at Old Traford when Wigan trounced Leeds in the championship final, Kris scoring a hat trick of tries. If I remember rightly he was only about 17, and to beat the other Wigan players, in what was then the most star studded team in the league, to that award, was tremendous, you could tell he was someone special to carry on the fullbacks role for Wigan.

It is true
Now 31, Radlinski joins a long line of Wigan legends to receive honours, including Ellery Hanley, Shaun Edwards, Martin Offiah and, most recently, Andrew Farrell.

Well done Kris. Thoroughly deserved. A true sporting great. I still get shivers down my spine thinking back to Murrayfield 2002. And in particular Kristians performance. Great memories of that trip. Who remembers Ray French saying something like "if he's got an injured foot, then I want two of them!"
Proud to be associated with 'the greatest game of all'.

"Legend" and "True great of the game"are sayings that are said an awful lot about very good players, but when you put the name Kris Radlinski in
the same sentence, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
A true Legend.

Kris will be remembered for many things.
Slippers at Murrayfield
That last second try against the Bulls at the JJB.
The way he used to be on Faz's shoulder to chase the little chip kick over the top.
The fact than when the bomb went up, you could breath that sigh of relief as you knew Rads was under it.
Great attack, superb defence.

I think Terry O'Connor summed it up many years ago at the JJB when I asked him what he thought of the youngsters coming up through the squad "They're great, just too many Gingers, did you know that Rads was Neil Cowies love child"

Well done Kris, you epitomised what Wigan RL was all about :eusa2:
