Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

McLinden at FB would be far better than the majority of names mentioned so far - not sure what his contract status is but maybe the new owner could bring him with him ? ;)

He is one player who can beat his man, and his next man come to that!

Cant think of one in GB, except maybe Wellens.
Wellens? Plays behind the best defence in SL. If you put him in an average team he would be in trouble - he hasn't got the pace to catch anyone. The only reason he got MoS was because sky's darling, sculthorpe was injured most of the season and they don't like giving it to non GB players
Wellens is the best fullback in Superleague by far. Got the man of steel bexause he deserved it. He breaks the first tacle on 85% of balls he collects at full back, scores bagfulls of tries, sets plenty up, has a terrific workrate, positional play is excellent, could tackle a bull at speed, and I bet if he was wearing the cherry and white hoops, he would be your favourite player. I am no Stains fan by any imagination, however I do recognise a good player when I see one.

I can see both sides of the argument. Wellens lack of pace for a fullback is a genuine failing in his game and is exposed less because he plays in a good team who are a team.

He isn't a great support player in the Radlinski mould due to his lack of pace and the other problem his lack of pace brings is his cover tackling isn't brilliant as he can be run around.

His one on one is very good and as you say he runs the ball out strongly. He is dangerous near the oppositions line in the last 30m or so and picks up a lot of tries in that zone.

He is an intelligent player who makes the best of his talents who plays to his strengths. He is a good player but not a great one. There are several Aussies better than him and of the Wigan full backs I have seen both Hampson and Radlinkli had more to their full back bag of skills than he does.

Put Wellens in this current Wigan team and he would improve it because we have not had a decent full back all season but I doubt he would be in the running for a MoS award.

Not happy about Hodgeson at all, Just another Aussie coming over for a big pay day plus he has passed it.

As for Wellens i dont rate him either ive yet to see him score a break away try from inside his own half and tackle a winger in open space.Way too slow.

Ive said it in the past there is Two fullbacks that would IMPROVE Wigan defensively and also Attacking thats Mclindon and William Zillman, Hodgeson is not good. To proove to super league our ambition we should be looking ambitiously not "Oh he will do a job" even if that meens going for players still under contract.

Even look at unsettled players in Union, Stains did with Maurie Fasavalu and hes defo a good player.

As much "hit and miss" as anyone else suggested - Dom Feuanati anyone?

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.

The best form of defence is attack!!

Season-ending injuries

In 2003, Hodgson's final year at Parramatta was cut short in round 16 with a rib injury.

On July 23, 2006, midway through the first half of the clash between Wests Tigers and his former club, Parramatta Eels, Hodgson sustained medial and cruciate ligament injuries and was sidelined for the remainder of the season.

In Round 12, 2007, Hodgson fractured his cheekbone in the match against Parramatta. After surgery to repair the fracture, Hodgson was sidelined for seven rounds [1] and returned in Round 20 for his 200th first-grade game, a resounding win against the North Queensland Cowboys.

He played well this weekend though...

The WEP seems to think there are 4 options:

Keeping Richards at fb
Brett Hodgson
Mathers
Briscoe.

I hope it's neither of the last two.
