Excellent post Geoff, I'm with you 100%.GeoffN posted:
We were beaten by the better team on the night, no doubt about it. Haven't seen the video yet, but I didn't think Ganson was as bad as he usually is. Their forwards totally dominated all game, Peacock in particular I thought was superb.
That game more than any other has highlighted how much we've missed a third prop, although Hock & Hansen both had good games our pack was always overpowered.
We lacked power up front, and we lacked pace out wide, I think Noble got the tactics right, in theory - keeping it simple and waiting for their mistakes; the only problem was, they didn't make any!
As I've seen quoted on one of the reports, they had something like a 95% completion rate; that will beat any side, Saints included.
Having said all that, I thought the final scoreline flattered them.
Anyway - it's been fun while it lasted - I think the side has outdone most people's expectations this season. I certainly wouldn't have predicted third in the playoffs and a CC semi spot, at the start of the season.
just watched the game fir the second time and in no way can Ganson be blamed for the result or any of the points leeds scored tonight. Its really becoming tiresome the onesidedness of some of the arguments on here. No complaints just one game too far. But well done lads.
Things could have been different if we'd have played a team like Salford rather than Saints the week before the playoffs and our chances of coming back in the second half would have been miles better if the Bradford game hadn't happened.
