We were beaten by the better team on the night, no doubt about it. Haven't seen the video yet, but I didn't think Ganson was as bad as he usually is. Their forwards totally dominated all game, Peacock in particular I thought was superb.

That game more than any other has highlighted how much we've missed a third prop, although Hock & Hansen both had good games our pack was always overpowered.
We lacked power up front, and we lacked pace out wide, I think Noble got the tactics right, in theory - keeping it simple and waiting for their mistakes; the only problem was, they didn't make any!

As I've seen quoted on one of the reports, they had something like a 95% completion rate; that will beat any side, Saints included.

Having said all that, I thought the final scoreline flattered them.

Anyway - it's been fun while it lasted - I think the side has outdone most people's expectations this season. I certainly wouldn't have predicted third in the playoffs and a CC semi spot, at the start of the season.
Excellent post Geoff, I'm with you 100%.

just watched the game fir the second time and in no way can Ganson be blamed for the result or any of the points leeds scored tonight. Its really becoming tiresome the onesidedness of some of the arguments on here. No complaints just one game too far. But well done lads.

Things could have been different if we'd have played a team like Salford rather than Saints the week before the playoffs and our chances of coming back in the second half would have been miles better if the Bradford game hadn't happened.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."

im with you gpartin.. it was a game to far for wigan last night. theres no shame in getting beaten by leeds. im looking at the positives for next season, think hansen has come on alot this season so will be looking for more next yr as has colborn and goulding. with a decent centre and 2 props well do well next season. i thought ganson was bad last night but he was bad for both teams.

It was also Leeds perfect game.

100% completion 24 sets out of 24 in the first half.

They can only match that next week, will they?

V that standard I think we dug in and matched them with a rearguard action for much of the game. Bar Fekas weak tackle and a soft Ali try. It would have been tight for much longer. The effort made told late on.

If they play as well as that against the scousers, they'll win.

The gamble of playing a half fit Feca didn't work, but we'd no real option; again highlighting our lack of a third prop. I hope they address that pretty quickly for next season.

Leeds big problem like many British teams is inability to convert points into pressure. Toopi and Senior are not good enough. I am envisaging a real struggle between Leeds and Saints but think Pryce / Roby will create more than Leeds will. The extra rest may prove decisive.
