wire wanted it more in the forwards than us ,combine this with a few quiet players (lockers, barrett, mathers) and our mistakes we still wouldn't have won 13 v 13. note ,this is without the ganson factor being considered

:conf: On paper, Fielden Feka and Coley should be up there with the props at Saints, Leeds, Wire etc but they rarely dominate (except at Bradford). Rauhihi and his pals were dominant from the first set - pushing us back, taking 3 or 4 men to bring em down. I want to see more Fozzard type runs - run fast straight at the opposition. We're too soft - half-hearted run, followed by a half-step before we hit their men at 5 mph.
If the other forwards had shown half the commitment of Gaz Hock, we'd have won that game, penalties or no penalties.
I'm not saying Stu Fielden doesn't try but he ain't the battering ram-with-attitude he used to be. Coley tries hard and Feka's great when he's great, average some of the time.
Barrett seemed a bit anonymous, leaving the ideas to Thomas L.

When we are attacking we are flat and clueless there is no second phase .Warrington used this ploy very well as did Castleford on friday We have not got the pack for going down the middle Wires beat us hands down in this department

There is no excuse for prop forwards standing flat to the P-T-B and taking the ball stood still

My point is that I don't think we have poor pack (as the Bulls game showed); we just had a pack that played poorly in the last game. (Except Hock!).

We do not have poor forwards. Nor are they small. We could field an even bigger pack if we wanted to.

What is lacking is a good structure to our attack. We score tries by players pulling rabbits out of hats as opposed to quality teamwork.

I will say this. Stuart Fielden will not look any better on attack unless the structure / organisation changes. Moreover, nor will most of the forwards bar say a Hock type who can force his way through brick walls. Whatsmore, it is a cumulative process. Good yards on Tackle 1 and a fast POTB results in even more yards on Tackle 2 and a faster POTB. The opposite, if you make poor yards, the play of the ball is slow then you are sending your teamates 'to their deaths' that follow. Whatsmore, you lose the ball, you lose possession and things just get worse and worse.

This current team is it's own worst enemy.

If we have the same pack that nearly got us to the final last year plus Coley, how can it be that bad. We are on a winner one week and a loser the next.
If we are playing a better pack then have we not got the backs to give them a run around. A big pack can be beaten by running rugby as I think Cas showed against Leeds last week and Stains have shown against Bradford in many games.
I think that BN is asking the team to play in a way that is alien to Wigan (ie up the middle) yet when we open up and play in an open style we can be world beaters.
And using Pale' as a battering ram close to the line?
Stains have a man who can score almost a try a game from dummy half close to the line and other teams, including Wigan have never learned. So, yes let's go for it.
