I am one of the VERY few who stays til the whistle whatever the result, sings Wigan til I die whatever the result, goes in South Stand bar to hear Phil Vievers comments (and don't heckle him let him have his say) whatever the result!! And still turn up for the next match whatever the result..... I'm not saying I'm a better fan than anybody but I get sick to death of being able to hear a pin drop when we go behind..... The people who walk out with 20mins of the game to go.... The ppl who heckle Phil Vievers when he's trying to say his piece.... Alright ask him questions but let him say what he's gotta say first....
Exactly :) the guy has the balls to come into the bar in the first place at least give him the respect to listen to his comments first then make yours. I'm sick of being given black looks and snide remarks when I tell folk to shush when they are heckling. I go into the bar to listen to the ass coaches' comments not someone elses.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

BTW I hope South Standers never feel they have to apologise for wanting to stand where they do. I hate the snobbery whereby West look down on East and West and East look down on South. I posted earlier this season that IMO the best atmosphere is in the South and for viewing RL standing/sitting behind an ingoal is far better than along a touchline. Jackie Edwards stood on the Spion Kop and so did CP. The Popular Side/Sully Bar was the South Stand back then.
I sit in the East and I don't look down on any fan in the South stand I want a reserved seat thats why I'm in the East.
Look at the fans forums, most people are too scared to even speak up.
And you can hardly say I'm too scared to speak up at the fans forums, or anytime for that matter. If I have something to say I say it.

What an awful thread. Didn't realise we had so many football fans amongst us. I dislike St Helens as much as any Wigan fan but some of the comments on here are totally uncalled for.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."

I wish there was more singing chanting etc. This is what helps the atmosphere and its always much better at away games .

I havent got a baby sitter for tonight so it will be sky for me im afraid but i have a good feeling we might be able to step up to this one tonight

we need to get into them early if our forwards can get on top early i think we have a chance

Was I right though? If the team plays well the atmosphere reflects that.
