Of course the article was Ghost written. The journalist was known to certain people and was reasonably sympathetic.

If only he had been a tennis player and appealed on the grounds of 'inadvertent contamination' which has been successful.

It took some balls to come out and admit it after he was caught!, i bet it also took some balls to put the new of the world's cheque in the bank, now if he had gone to the club and asked for their help before he had gotten caught then it would be a different matter, but no, he simply carried on until he got busted, talk about being a numbhead, some people need to take off the Wigan tinted goggles on this issue like

no compassion then Medlock shame on you and you call urself a Wigan fan

we all accept that he as done wrong

but i for one am forgiving on this matter and i will tell you why

what he did was wrong - he took recreational drugs not performance enhancing

my mother god rest her soul always said to me when growing up it takes a bigger man to turn the other cheek than to get involved in trouble

Gareth as owned up to what he as done wrong ( does not matter why he owned up - he as )

Lets give the lad another chance

compassion is a great feeling

Would the same sort of feelings be expressed if he had been caught drink driving and banned from driving for a year? Would you say he should never be allowed to drive again after he has served his ban? I doubt it. He hasn't cheated, he's been stupid, that's about all. All this crap about fuelling the narcotics industry is just people getting on their high horse and trying to take the moral high ground. I suppose next you will be saying that the British Forces are at fault because they're not erradicating all the poppy fields in Afghanistan, where something like 30% of the Worlds opium is produced there.

He's been an idiot (Hock), nothing more, nothing less. Let him serve his ban, get clean and then we can see if he can come back to the club and be the player that he once was.

I go back to what I have previously said. I do not read any protests that we have Feka in our team and what he did was far worse IMO.

Rec drugs trash more lives than performance enhansing, fact. For sport to come down so hard on them I am thankful. Anyone deserves a second chance but to say ONLY when refering to these drugs shows a limited understanding of a deep problem.

You would have seen me question why the club had not sacked him if you resurrect those threads. I was surprised they did not.
