Geoff is right. The decision re renewal will be made well before his contract expires so rightly or wrongly he needs to make a big statement ASAP.

Did this rumour come from someones Dad who's cousins friends grandad who used to empty the bins at Central Park, I watched Feka play against Hull Res and I think he did O.K. As for Pryce, Jaws came up with a good idea stating that Pryce would be better playing in the pack (2nd row)there he would see more of the ball and obviously would be more involved in the game!! If he didnt perform through lack of effort it would prove that he is not interested or perhaps his confidence is completely shattered.

You're probably right about the Feka rumour, it wouldn't surprise me if it was just made up. As for Pryce playing at second row unless we have a massive injury crisis its not going to be something he gets to try at Wigan, we have too many decent second rowers to think it feasible that Pryce would ever get a place. In terms of his suitability to the position I can't really say I've seen enough of him but considering he seems to shy away from grafting I doubt very much he'd make it at Super League level.

Too many on here are sadly writing Feka off as a spent Wigan player.
As I have said, give feka a season to come to terms with what Madge is applying to him.
I am sure he will be judged for the coming 2011 season well by November 2010, his contract renewal date. :)
But that's too late to be getting a top class replacement for him if he doesn't make it. We have to know earlier what we're doing with his chunk of salary, whether that's re-signing or replacing him.

I'm definitely not writing him off, I'm just saying he'll need to be at the required (by MM) standard much earlier than October/November.
I wasnt saying direct to you that you were writing Feka off, but more of a general site statement.
With all the new changes within Wigan Warriors RLFC, I am sure MM has come with some requirements.
We would not expect him to continue with a squad of players he feels not capable of success.
Feka will no doubt be one of the players in his radar, and I am sure he will have decided it will be a new contract "yes" or "no" by the end of 2010 season.

Is that satisfactory though? You are talking about a highly paid import playing against players that are largely 20 and under. He is much bigger, stronger and more developed than the people he is playing against and should be dominating in every way. We are now a quarter through the season and he still seems no better than he was pre-season, or in previous seasons for that matter.

I am sorry that is one of the worst ideas that I have heard. He is in no way suitable for that position and would be a complete liability. I think is lack of effort in the positions which he supposedly plays says it all about his commitment.

Think you are being a bit harsh there. As far as I am concerned I don't think they utilise him as they should & as they did when he first came to us.

No??! I had to check the date on my laptop and check it wasn't April the 1st - This has to be a wind up surely?

Pryce spends most of a game with his arm up to the bench from impacts against his opposite numbers in the centres and wing. Can you imagine what he'd be like up against the slightly bigger boys?

He's got no heart and playing in the 2nd row isn't going to give him that.

.
Feka is effectively a completely different player to last season, still trying to get used to his new body shape and develop the strength that he is bound to have lost to lose all that weight.
I think playing a game or two in the reserves will do him good, and I am guessing that he will now be doing very different gym sessions to the pre season. That work will have been focussed on losing weight, the new work will, I guess, be targeted more towards developing strength.

I think that if MM doeas let Feka go out on loan, it will be the biggest signal that he's given up on him. Ainscough and Tuson are young and need expereince and games, as Mossop has proven. Feka needs his strength back and a clear plan to develop a game for him, when he's not 20 stone.

For what it's worth I think he will stay and reappear later in the season as a different player, I'm not sure how this will happen but have faith in both MM's long term plans and Feka's attitude.

Strangely enough, I think that the old Feka was missed on Friday night, and if he'd have come off the bench after 30, we'd have killed them off a lot earlier.

Have to disagree with you. Refreshingly, Madge uses his interchange based on what is happening in the game and because we did so much defending he used plenty of interchanges early so on that basis Feka would have been a weak link.
