Still hung over after the Wembley triumph, certainly during the training sessions and quite possibly during the match. Was Hansens appalling performance due to memories of Morley smashing his shoulder in last year and not wanting to be injured before the playoffs. We now get a chance to stuff Stains in the first round playoff game or not as the case may be as last years experience showed.

I think we been threatening to get beat for the last 3 games and scraped through by the class in the team but met an in form wire and they were just doing everything faster, harder and smarter than us.

Im glad we got a loss out the way to be honest it gives the team a break from the ever growing "unbeaten" record that would of heaped pressure on us come the playoffs.

Sam needs resting IMO he's looked jaded last 2 matches and isnt playing anywhere near his best and loosk half a yard slower

Could anyone list the way these playoffs are structured.
As far as hull not needing a win against wire, surely that depends on who they wish to face next ,or not as the case may be.
If we rest 4 or 5 players (which in my opinion we need to)surely this will give some of the fringe players a game ,because does it really matter if we lose. The games ahead will be the most important, we need to give them the best prep for those games to come.

I have thought that as well. We won at Wembley but it was not convincing. Still very happy about it though so no one take that as anything negative about the day and the result!

My view is we have hung on to win games this season far more than last.

I have a sneaky suspicion we will have to settle for the Cup this year given the seasons general form.

Not a bad achievement at all if so given who we had to beat to win it.

Other than the CC nothing has been won yet? Against Wire we looked understandably tired against Leeds we just played them at their gameplan instead of ours and we won wembley!

Count us out at your own peril, I think we have been holding back for the right time so to speak, which is coming in 2 weeks!

This is where my one and only niggle with Madge comes in. We basically play the same seventeen every week unless a player is too injured to go on the pitch.
We have a hard core of 15 players who are physically and mentally very tired. You can only be psyched up for so many big must-win games before your brain and body slow down.
We also have the best Academy team in the country. Any Academy player would play his heart out if he was given a first team outing but Madge will not deviate from his 'play your best team' every single week.

Against Warrington, we looked a second too slow from kick-off to final whistle. Carvell & Co were stronger than our props and Warrington's youngsters did a great job, especially in defence.

When we play Crusaders, please please rest some of our top men and try and get everybody fully fit and mentally ready for the gruelling play-offs.Unless Hull beat Wire, the result of our match doesn't matter a toss.

Hull need the points to finish above Hull KR IIRC

Hull should not beat Wire but you never know.

That's not the case now CP. Hull are guaranteed a play off spot because cas lost. However, Hull will want to win to secure a potential home play off spot. They could actually finish as high as 5th if Leeds lose away to Hudds (likely) and cats lose away to salford (who knows as they have been in terrible form). It only takes a Hull win and one of Leeds or Cats to lose to guarantee a home play off spot which is crucial.

Be a close game this chaps.

Should be another topic this but does anyone else think that the final round of the season should be played on the same day, at the same time? I do.

As already said if at the start of the 2010 season we were offered 1st in league one season, second another, grand final winners one season and challenge cup the next we would all have taken that. My main concern is that may be some of the players mentality as well.
The next few weeks could be a big test for MM - is he happy with what he has delivered (as I am) or can he raise the team to one final push. I have an awful feeling that this may be as good as it gets for this season.
However always the optimist and can always dream - lets screw wire big time at Old Trafford!!

Hull can either finish 8th or as high as 6th so the result matters as does bragging rights for finishing above KR.
