But that's like saying Roby, Monaghan, Buderus etc cannot defend in comparison?
No BM. Two of those are outstanding defenders. Unfortunately British RL has not got a clue how important defence is so a few trick plays make a player a star even if he misses tackle after tackle.

Defence wins matches. Anybody remember Roby in the CC match  Had a great game defensively but redundant in attack.
I do feel this was one issue never fully addressed from last season (and God forbid might continue with the issue surrounding Gleeson leaving Wigan with one quality/experienced centre short). IE: With Riddell interchanging with Leuluai, Wigan were a totaly different and much stronger all round than the one with MM interchanging with Leuluai.

McIlorum is a decent player, just not in the same league as those I mentioned as to what he brings to the side

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.

The best form of defence is attack!!

Out of the black and into the red, remember you don't get anything for two in a bed!!

Strange comment! Always used to be your backs are only as good as your forwards, but however you want to justify your point
I understand what GOD means. Remember many of you are arguing / want your hooker to play like a halfback. In terms of the way Madge wants his teams to play, they do not seem to play behind a hooker. Other than drawing a marker the hooker is (it seems) instructed to pass or run and let the forwards punch the hole WHEREAS say Wire, Monaghan is expected to crab around, go laterally etc. Different philosophy.
