Not good enough

Why on earth are we playing so many people who've never played at this level before? Even against a side as poor as Widnes - it's asking for trouble. It's smacks of arrogance and the same mistake we made at the start of the season.

I am for giving youngsters a chance - but surely not all of them at once?

It sounds like our defence was non-existent.

We took all of our leaders out of the team and were then surprised when we couldn't turn it round? Wane needs to put his hand up and take the blame.

Very poor

But fair play to Widnes. Good for them.

Just wish it hadn't been against us.

I reckon London are in for a hammering!!!!

I'm gutted and a little bit embarassed.
I would not bet on it after this display. As I said I was not at the game so it is all down to commentators reading of the game. And being honest the coverage was not bad.Because it left me with a bad feeling the longer the game went on.I'm certainly not going to heap the blame of the head of the youngsters as this is down to selection policy.Shaun it would appear needs to be a little more clinical in his selection.Of course we do not know how many of the squad are carrying injuries. But it does seem to smack of complacency on the coaches behalf.Sad day at the office is all I can say and can only expect us to learn from this debacle. :(

Couldn't go today. But I believe we had a really large following.

What the hell must they have been thinking??

Seems SW has learned nothing from the Huddersfield debacle. Shows his inexperience as a SL coach.

Either that or stupidity/arrogance!

Somewhat embarrassing. Makes us a temporary laughing stock in SL.

It was all going swimmingly this weekend with the Stains and Warrington losing - then this!!!

Chance to go top of the league and swell our points difference, and to continue to make a statement.

The i-pitch was made for Wigan's top quality players to rip Widnes appart. Like other teams have been doing this season.

I just wonder that if SL was not decided by play-offs, and the team at the top were crowned the winners, would SW have made the same teal selection??

First game i have missed this season and thank god i did miss it.SW has been arrogant, disrespectful to Widnes and downright stupid. How can you leave out your 1,7,13 and top points scorer as well. For heavens sake we have only played a handful of games.I bet IL is not too happy and i hope he tells Wane so.There is no reason to disrupt a winning team and i am sure Madge would never have made such an error. To lose a game is bad enough but give a game away is criminal.

i listened on wire fm and followed on twitter due to im indoors working.
Fuming at the result, was told mid week we would lose this due to team selection.
Mr Wane lost lockers testy match by dropping key players, he's done it again now.
Let us hope he listens and learns.
so many dropped was gonna weaken our defence and attack.

Rank stupidity on Wane's part.

Madge was guilty of not blooding youngsters last year but there was never a need to take out four of your best players to do so.

The young players will not have learned a thing. Far better to blood one or an absolute max of two in a game alongside the experienced players who can help them along. Not chuck them all in at once. We are already having to play Hughes as George is out.

It's London next and he could have given different youngsters a game next week so absolutely no need to do what he did today.

Now he will have to play his best side so as not to lose more league points.

I'd love to hear his excuses for this one.

The travelling fans have been ripped off Wane doing something I would only expect of Millward.

I am fully with Mathew on this.
Just not good enough from Shaun Wane who has to take the full blame for this defeat.
After our opening game loss to Huddersfield where Wane openly admitted that the Giants were totally underestimated, why go on to risk the same embarrassment again with a team selection missing so many main strike/essential players in key positions.
Why take such a risk when the team is facing many "ex" Wigan players who will automatically up their anti for this game alone, plus playing on an artificial surface which has a good advantage to Widnes.
I agree that there is no reason not to blood the youngsters, but not altogether at once.
It will be interesting to see what Shaun Wane's take will be on this performance.
