I agree that it led to the fight, in a roundabout sort of way. The Hock - LMS handbags was all fizzled out before MaGennis decided to try and take on the World. If you watch the match again, players of both teams had fairly successfully quelled the flames in the original fight.
Tuson had let go of MaGennis and was walking away before he smacked him in the back of his head. IMO this is what caused the much worse brawl. I don't blame Tuson for getting stuck in to him, and even when he'd been dragged off, by his own players, MaGennis still goes back in for more. Clocking Lockers and looking for others, before Mossop puts him on his arse.

What I still can't get my head around is the red cards. If the ref had dealt with it sensibly, it would have been 4 yellow cards. LMS, Hock, Tuson and MaGennis. Let them calm down and then get on with the match. We've seen fights much worse than that and a yellow has been sufficient. Look at the infamous Farrell "You effin @*#house" fight, even with Feunati running in there were still only yellow cards dished out. The one where Fogarty rearrange Cowies nose at KR, yellow cards. The red cards killed the game and it all just fizzled out after that.
I know we were miles in front but it just stopped being a great spectacle after the sending offs, IMO. I hope (but very much doubt) that the RFL disciplinary committee will see it in a similar light.

Fully agree with this. Theres nothing worse than a gutless ref who fails to take control. This was way OTT though. Regardless of us still tanning them, it ruined the game, and yet again instead of talking about what would have been a great game... We're talking about the ref.

LMS, started it - bin
Hock, retaliated and threw first punch - bin
Magennis, cowardly sh*thouse - bin
Tuson, defending himself, shouldn't really have left the pitch IMO, but still, he got stuck in! (good lad) - bin

This would have calmed things down, sufficiently punished the guilty, left us with even teams, and after 10 mins, 2 full teams for the game to continue.

Instead what we have is the usual 5 minutes afterwards where both teams feel hard done by and dangerous high tackles throws and charges start flying left right and centre.

Just read that 4 people have been charged by the RFL for the dust up yesterday, 3 from Wigan (Hock, Tuson & Mossop) only 1 from Saints (Magennis).

Yet again further inconsistency from the RFL, why hasn't LMS been charged? He instigated the start of it by leaning into Hock with his head.

The ref lost control as far as I'm concerned, it should have been a couple of sin bins at the most. If that had happened in the NRL or SOO they wouldn't have so much as batted an eyelid.

Complete farce. Will not be surprised to see all 3 of our lads cop bans for Friday's match at Sheddingley.

LMS was at it all game, as was Wilkin. Cheap digs, face rubs etc. Get away with it everytime. Could be 3 players down then on Friday. Noticed Leeds had 3 players facing charges, Smith, Peacock and Webb. Guess what .... No charges against any.

Magennis should have been sent off no questions asked and Tuson should not have been sent off, also Magennis should get a minimum of 3 games and Tuson should be no case to answer.

Hock deserves a ban of 1 game maximum but so does LMS and both should have been sin binned.

Mossop deserves 1 game maximum and probably should have been sin binned also, along with Wilkin for persistent infringement including THREE high tackles.

That is the bottom line people, in my humble opinion.

Never liked LMS - massively overated by the RFL to try and prove that London can produce players. Should have been the first player off the pitch following the brawl.

Think he needs to get the sean long treatment from the fans next time we play them

Let us know when you are proved right, because it aint happened on this.
Hock was headbutted in the scrum by Loony McCockney-Scumbag who has got off scot free. Hock was probably our best player yesterday, and is far and way the best second row forward in Superleague.
I hope next time we play them Hock sticks one on him and walks off the pitch before the ref even realises he's gone. It would be worth it.

No it wouldn't as we play saints the last game of the season so we'd be missing one of our key players for the play offs and I know which one I'd rather choose.

So potentially against Leeds we are going to have Mossop, Hock, Tuson, HH, Preccy, Flower and Fielden(ok I know) missing?

Yet we could still field a pack containing Lima, MM, Dudson, Hughes, Farrell and Lockers with Lauaki, Crosby, Spencer and Logan on the bench, or something similar anyway. That is some strength in depth.

Let's hope Leeds take us lightly because with them forwards and Bench and our fantastic halves and back line, we can and will beat them.
