Could this be clever future planning by Mr L, send Matty over to the NRL for a couple of seasons and then when Sam leaves (we don't want it to happen but it almost certainly will) he comes back to Wigan with NRL experience from being coached and games under his belt.

Matty's footwork can not be taught. You can learn positional play and catch a ball. This kid is special and only turned 19 in June. I will miss the lad. But fair play I wish I was so young and had a chance to go to Aus.. WELL DONE Matty.

Good luck to the lad. A clever Wigan would have sent him out to Aus for a season or two to then return. We did not and seem to think Murphy is better

As TSB states you cannot teach his ability to step and change direction so quickly and repeatedly.
