Oddly though he went up fearlessly for a couple of catches of high kicks. Re tackling, whether he can still do it v big pros; Sam before his growth spurt was even smaller but he had perfected an excellent cumberland throw in the junior ranks.
cp, who is Mellors?
The try scorer for Wakey Josie. They may spell it with an A instead of an O.

 I'm a dozy sod

Poore is up before the panel on Cat B charge so could face 1-2 games. Actually benefits Wire as he'll miss game with them.

Full charges aren't up on RFL site yet, but Sky report doesn't mention anything being done about Mellars shoulder on Burke, which if anything looked worse on TV to me than it did live.

Agreed, Bailey got sent off for something similar last week, just to make it clear I hate Bailey and he deserved it!!

DaveO wrote:We certainly made hard work of it v 12 men and the defense down the middle was poor for two of their tries.

I thought the ref got worse as the game wore on and I reckon toward the end we were denied a try a video ref would have easily given. I also think he may have copped out on sending a second player off for an attack on Burke that was very late probably because he'd already sent one off.

Hughes in the centres, Thronley on the wing ad Tuscon off early gives an indication of how we lined up. Smith got subbed at one point and at times the side had a distinctly odd look about it.

Some of their scores came directly from Wigan mistakes that led to penalties.

I think we always had too much for them on attack partly down to having 12 men but I'd imagine Wane will be annoyed at the defense.

All in all grateful for the two points but it was a poor game.
Even allowing for the fact that it was the 4th game in 16 days it was dreadful. Remind me not to go to the corresponding game next year, calling the referee bad doesn't half describe his appalling performance.

Hopefully you'll all be as happy as us with how it went? The game on the weekend was scruffy but it was the third game in 9 days for both teams so it was never going to be a classic. Of the Easter period I'd say the final game is the hardest one, we also had a young team out but we got the job done and came away with the two points. Being the oldest man out there for us at the age of 26 was just weird! I don't feel old anyway and it was definitely a first.

See Blake Green agrees with me, it was a case of 'Job Done'!!

The 2nd and 3rd games certainly seem to suffer. The average winning margin in the 3rd game is massive some years - like over 20 points average across the games with teams regularly getting beaten by three scores or more. I wrote something about it last week.
