Very eloquently put DaveO, once again I find myself agreeing with your post, bang on.
As you say it's very difficult to see a way back from this situation, but signins like Guisset, Seuseu, and Moran ar'nt the answer.

Doris has gone very quiet this last month or so, and I am wondering who is running the club ? DW needs to put some new blood in at Admin level, pay for the services of an experienced coach (Andersen) Betts demoted for the time being.

This should then enable us to attract a few experienced pros, probably only for next season I admit, but this then would allow the new coach to set out his stall for the rest of the season and build on the youth we have coming through. Instead of Betts, coming out with these embarrasing remarks every week to the press !!!

That's unforgivably insulting, MrsC! My daughter's got two pet rats, and they wouldn't dream of being so negative! They will accept your apology, though.

It is going to keep happening I'm afraid, look at all the coverage Wales got for winning a domestic competition last weekend, look at all the coverage GB get for getting to the Tri Nations final...no comparison. League can't give players the big stage. Gavin Henson has had two and a half decent games in international rugby and is now a celebrity dating a pop star, Andy Farrell has been a world beater for 12 years and no one knows who he is outside of a handful of northern towns. League is always going to be around and strong, but they just might have to get used to using their big stars every now and again.
