I blame the standard of education these days!
Well mine was a Grammar school and you were taught not to suffer fools gladly!
Whelley, not exactly the education metropolis is it?
And(shouldn't start a sentence with and but canbe rather effective) as for comments when people disagree, turn back the clock and what have been doing with Dave O and CP? Memory not one of your best assets? Don't worry lest you forget, I'll answer, no it's not!:D

However, he hasn't won a Super League Grand Final (although he may later on this year, who knows?). So why does he want to challenge himself in Australia when he's not fully challenged himself over here? I find that professioanlly unfulfilling, to say the least and find myself puzzled by it. Could it be the money, one asks?

He has won a GF winners medal
Obviously, it is money first then challenge / lifestyle

Apologies, CPW, he did win a GF with Maguire. I just hope he doesn't kiss the Ancient and Loyal coat of arms on Saturday, though.

I hope he kisses the Challenge Cup. Forget loyalty this is all about winning.

I also hope Wigan win. Tomkins has no loyalty, brilliantly gifted player that he is.
Lest we forget, professional sportsmen are in it for the money first and foremost and why not?

In the current situation; you would have been waving goodbye to Hanley, Gregory, Edwards, Offiah and many more far far sooner. People need to get over this loyalty garbage. Sport shows ZERO loyalty to the players. The players respond likewise.
One of the saddest aspects of Heritage Day for me is 1). How few players are involved 2). How many are in poor health in terms of lower limbs particularly AND MOST IMPORTANTLY 3). Wigan RLFC have not even created a special suit jacket & tie for all those that do attend. You would would think Mr Wigan himself (IL) would fund it personally!

Correct on both points.

I'd have liked to see us playing in an old kit too.

If you look through the history books you'll find countless accounts of players who feel let down, cut off or disrespected by the clubs they once played for with full commitment.
Also, what loyalty does a player really owe us anyway? This isn't a marriage, and even if it were, that can be easily cancelled if both parties are happy to let it be so. Sam leaving now isn't only down to him wanting to go, we could have made him stay, and its not like that would have been bad for him either if he could pick up more contracts/endorsements from outside the club. We helped nurture his talent, he helped us win matches, the club aren't stopping him leave. He may seem a little like a fancy dan loving a showbiz life these days, but I don't question his commitment to winning games/trophies whilst he has been and still is a Wigan player.
