Daz shot out the line a number of times tonight and was bad call on a few occasions

Offloading and playing 2nd phase is one way of playing RL but we do not have those players and more often than not it fails due to being high risk.
However, if you do not play that style then you need to control the game by concentrating upon field position / possession.
We do neither which suggests Wane is not a very intelligent / good coach!!

Tony Smith - Failed 3 times to win a GF with clearly the best squad at Warrington, but he has won it previously and CC's with Wire.
And SW has done it with a year on year weakened squad.
SW has been very lucky. We played no one of note in our run to the CC final and Hull were 7th at the time of the final.
Does anyone seriously think we'd have the CC had we had to face Leeds, Hudds or Wire at any time in that competition?
So far we have a very poor record against the better sides and in particular struggle to score points against any of them. Tonight was no different.
Knock out comps work in your favour sometimes with the luck of the draw. The playoffs aren't like the old top 5 where you had to beat all those above you. If they were why would anyone think we had a chance from 4th!
As it is the way the fixtures work we can lose next week and still avoid at least one team who are clearly better than us so he has a chance to get to O/T.
The trouble is that is what we are relying on. The luck of the draw and other teams knocking out teams we haven't beaten.
For these reasons Wanes trophy CV doesn't tell you the whole story by a long chalk. He has far more in common with Dorahay than the likes of Monie or Madge. Dorahay is proof if ever there was you can be a poor coach and still end up with a CC and Championship win on your CV.
Wane is rapidly heading towards being Dorahay MkII.

Can anyone tell me when our pack last dominated their counterparts? Maybe the CC final? Better still, can anyone tell me when it happened without Lockers in the team?
We need to recruit some size and skill in the backrow and our props need to run straight lines.

I rate Paul Anderson as the coach of the season the giants aren't the best squad and he has turned them round
Look at it this way wire and hudds both play now better and more successfully under their respective coaches, can the same be said of wigan?
WF, I think Hudds probably have a better squad than Wigan and Anderson should be given credit for assembling it. They have a large pack that run hard and straight and create opportunities for their halves (which are better than ours). They have a hooker with pace who damages tiring teams and they have outside backs who can beat players and finish. Both Hudds and Wire are better teams than us, or should I say they are beteer organised and coached than us!

While it was such a disappointing end to the regular season, it's not quite so simple as blaming the 'one tactic'.
The biggest difference in any game of rugby between winning and losing is the amount of territory gained in attach, and the amount conceded in defence. Last night Leeds made 50m in a set regularly, and limited us to 20 or so. The result was good field position from which they could attack and score (one intercept notwithstanding), and limiting us to one try only. It's mostly been the same in all the other games we've lost recently. We've simply let their defence bully us out of field position and good attacks.
It was painful to watch their defensive line push up to the gain line on every play-the-ball, and to see ours static and granting them 10m without laying a finger on them. The result was they hit our line at speed and made even more metres, and more offloads. And we got nowhere.
Had we been able to restrict their metres gained it could have been different. But to do that we needed to be much more aggressive in defence. Only by limiting them could we be in a position to launch our attacks.
The other factor was their ability to nullify our kicks. Matty Smith actually didn't kick badly, but so often with full back and wings back, there was nowhere to go. We were always chasing the game.
So it's not so much the one tactic, but being able to make it work. We played badly and looked out of sorts against (let's be honest) a very good and fit Leeds team. Must do better if we are to progress further and get as far as a game on October 5th.

I have hated reading fans criticising Mossop this season even before his Eels move was announced. Wane ball denies forwards the opportunity to be forwards. Look how spread our players are from the POTB, the distance props often are from Mickey Mac.
