i always felt Joel was more a pawn in Sarries trying to get Sam, its funny how as soon as Sam announced he was NRL bound the rumours of Joels return fired up and have since come to pass.

I personally would like to see him back at 2nd Row with Bateman at loose but either could play at 13 once Seans body gives up

As a guest of friends who live in Leicester I was invited to go to the Leicester v Saracens game last year. A certain J Tomkins was playing for the visitors, and I watched his game with some interest. Well, I say some interest until I fell asleep. Sadly he was largely anonymous, but with 14 other unknowns around him. I kept thinking "Joel - you're better than this".
When one of the locals asked me if I'd come to see the "real thing", I was able to point out that I did that at Wigan, but tonight I'd come to see how the other half live.

Anyway, like the other posters on this thread I am delighted to see Joel back. Two of his tries stand in the memory - the winner at the Wire in 2010, and of course at Wembley. But his game was much more than that.

Clearly his previous employer (a certain Mr Darth Vader of the Dark Side), wasn't all he was cracked up to be.

So, welcome back to the light Joel. Good to see you.

It allows us to look after Lockers and Bateman giving rest as and when needed.

Just wondering how we are fixed with the cap now joel has signed?
Also do you think we have paid Saracens £250,000 for him?

Just wondered if Joel may play sometime at prop.
Waney has signed Tuati who can play prop and back row, same with Clubb. Perhaps he may play there?
A great re-signing by the club.
We really do have a formidable squad.

How are you aware of his contract details Josie?

Always good to have a Tomkins in the pack.

Kind of feel a bit let down by Mrs Tomkins that she didn't have more.

Do we have enough in the salary cap left to get her back in the Wigan production line?
