Sutton to Sydney

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Any different than Hargreaves, O'Carroll, Spencer etc?

All consider to be good props, but were released as we can't keep them all, only the ones that the club think are better.

Just a differing view!
A reasonable comment but never the less as a further example, what if one of the young half backs go, the great philosophy is again thrown out of the window!?
Do you expect the the club to keep all our half backs like Smith, Hampshire, Powell, Williams, Sharrock, Doran and others coming from the Under 16's.

We can't keep them all, hence examples like Mellor at Widnes, Leatherbarrow at Batley.

The same applies to all positions when we have so many quality young players. We pick out the best and allow others to leave. Having said that the club does make the odd mistake like Matty Russell and we all now know the reason for that mistake. A certain player choosing to go down under and another being the son of a former famous player being higher in the pecking order but since has not progressed as expected.

Unfortunately NO SL club can compete with the NRL. We are not talking about just improving a SL contract.

Sutton is still contracted to Wigan for what another 2.5 years. I think he looks a fantastic prospect but that is what he is. How many first team games has he played? half a dozen? YET the NRL want to throw crazy contracts at such players.

WE (SL) cannot compete with the NRL so vent your anger at the cap and the RFL.
