Latics season ticket holder here but i've been to a fair few wigan rubgy games in my past etc. etc.
Just wanted to point out that yesterday was a Home sell out. Reading were given the whole east stand until we realised that the 3 home stands were going to sell out.
We ask GMP to allow us to use the east stand for both home and away fans and they simply said NO.

How stupid was that planning? Giving the biggest stand in the ground to the away fans. To be fair to Reading though they had a fair few there, just doesn't make sense they don't just give the North Stand to the away fans like we do.

The down side to your argument, is the worst kept RL secret this year, that being that Doris will be moving to Ozz, sometime in the near future, if DW does lose interest then we will be leaderless, so it needs sorting out now !!!
Care to clarify why this is a downside?
You keep telling us there are downsides but you've yet to explain what the actually consequence of any of these downsides are.

Reading brought about 2500 so not bad.
Next season we'll be having the east stand developed to mean we can change the amount of seats being given to away fans. It'll be a few fences built at certain points in the stadium plus movable seperators in the concourse.
I think we'll be getting a few sell outs next season and that will be with very limited away support.

if we are toi have a new owner, let it be now, if we are to have a new chairman, let it be now, if we are to have a new ground, let it be now, then and only then canwe start to rebuild our depleted squad !!
IN MY OPINION !!
Well what is the point in sacking the coach, chairman at this stage at the season? That would leave us in a worse position. Next season as mrs_carney pointed out in our debate new players, new coach and new wigan!

A new coach and new chairman now wont be able to do anything until next year, they'll still have the resources that denis and mo etc have now

Because of the season ticket holders who have seats in the North Stand which is officially designated as the 'Family Stand'
All the children's facilities/clubs are situated in and around the North Stand.
As I have read on here, people feel evictions to be quite threatening. :sly:

Biggest game in the Latics history - was the stadium full? Nope. 19600 fans. Don't know how many Reading brought, but given they could also have made the play-offs there should have been a few. A bit of a change, though, from 10 years ago when Whelan took over - according to an article on the BBC website the Latics managed a whole 1500 loyal fans on average at Springfield Road. I wonder how many of the 19000 today will claim to have been supporters back in the Dark Ages...
The attendance was 18,179 and half the east stand was closed off! All the tickets available were sold! I dont think they could have filled it anyway but it is a bit unfair to write them off like that! A lot of the fans were neutrals anyway so nobody could really say how many REAL latics fans were there!
