RedVee seems to believe he is on Stains radar and the overall concensus is they are not happy at all at the prospect of another Perry/Hohaia/Lafranchi/Flannery seeking a last hurrah and pension top up!

IL states that although signing Sam was "not directly connected to the marquee player rule" if it is not brought in Wigan would face "significant pressure on the salary cap", I would infer from that that IL is looking at Sam as the marquee player, and if the rule is not introduced then maybe the overall squad will suffer.
