The reality is we lost the LLS v Saints BUT I would rather win a GF than the LLS (even that was CLOSE)
When some around me were getting excited at Huddersfield winning 14-8, I said Leeds would win with their usual last few minutes try and/or penalty.
I was proved right!
How many times have we seen it happen in recent seasons for them to get a win or a draw.?

We shouldn't have to rely on the fortunes or misfortunes of other teams to achieve a trophy. Cpwigan is right, we lost that hubcap against the Aints last week.
See how I'm back to calling them Aints again 'cos I think that'll be their status for next season--a trophy-free zone again.

To be honest Wane was right re not deserving the LLS. It is frightening / a poor reflection on SL that we came so close with such dreadful away form.
Far more important we can win the GF and we can be the dominant SL club over the next 5 years.

I'm always amused by comments like these... 40 mins away from potentially winning the league, anyone would think we were Salford.
Its not about winning anything that comment. For me finishing top is not that important its nice but GF is far more important.
We could finish anywhere in the top 3 next week is far more important than this game.
After the 2 tries we have not created a break and the shift to the right as Carney says is not working. Only break was Bowen's burst. Cas has controlled that second half and we have to improve if we are to make even the GF.
Clueless??? That was the word used, bottom line Wigan have come very close to winning the league again. Hardly clueless
You think that our attack first half and against Cas and last week was good enough. Defensively we are good when needed but can you say the same about the attack. 2nd half once the drop goal went over Cas packed up for the season.
As I said I did not care about winning the hub cap its nowhere near as important as getting confidence for the semi. And 2nd half was a lot better Burgess is no centre though.
Often this season our attack has been shocking do you agree with that. Or do you just think we were unlucky not to finish top. Personally I think we let game go due to clueless and predictable attack at times.
We are the best side in the Super 8's and apart from the Hull game we have been a lot better overall in a lot of areas. Even against Saints we hammered their pack.

Exactly my point our side 2013 would have got top spot sown up by July. Standard is poor when we got turned over so often and still ended 2nd. As for 5 year domination I can see this coming especially if we keep Bateman and the spine of the team.

The quality of our juniors is fantastic and IMO; Saints are still rebuilding, Leeds are in decline (whatever happens this season). I can only see Catalans IMPROVING greatly in 2016.
SL / CC are ours to lose IMO next 5 years.

On top of second spot in the league the clueless Wigan posted 47 points tonight: get agrip and support our team
The point he was raising was that after Manfredi and Bowen's try's where was Wigan's attack for the remainder of the first half?? Castleford placed real pressure on the Wigan defence and came up with two trys of their own (one of them very soft).
Not arguing we finished second in the league BUT finishing second in the Grand Final is nothing is it not?
I am sure this was highlighted by Wane at half time to the players. The ptb was slow, the forwards not direct or hitting the advantage line. It was the sinbinning of Solomona that opened the floodgates and we cannot rely on that happening next week. We must and need to be more consistent for the full 80 minutes and control the game for longer periods if we are to win through (and repeat for the Grand Final).
Criticizing other posters for not having the same opinion of you is becoming an increasing habit in this form overall. It is about opinions and we all support the same team irrespective of how well we each individually think we perform each week
Thanks BM was exactly my point we were actually losing at the end of the 1st half and did nothing with ball in hand for 35 minutes.
WELSKI was that 1st half performance acceptable.
I do not care about LLS its a meaningless shield that give you the same advantage for finishing first as it does for second.
Problem is BM people do not know today how to debate and make opinions without attempting to embarrass people by trying to make a point to justify their own agenda. When in-fact I mentioned the last 35 minutes of the first half which we were clueless. People with agenda tend to ignore the post and pick snippets.
As is said was the last 35 mintues of the 1st half acceptable for a side that has potential to win the grand final.

We need a play maker after the siege of the Saints line and last night we seem not able to penetrate the defence from close by.Hudds have a tight defence should be interesting to se if we change our tactics with just passinjg the ball to the right all the time Cas were waiting in numbers in there left side defence.
