Thats exactly how I feel.Just like the handful at MU it seems people would rather be mediocre and let things carry on rather than shack things up and attempt to be the best again.

I really do not see what the problem some have with him. He puts his heart into the job. Leigh and Saints are better for him having graced their respective clubs.standishcat posted:Thats exactly how I feel.Just like the handful at MU it seems people would rather be mediocre and let things carry on rather than shack things up and attempt to be the best again.Like lots of people have said, no one person is bigger than our club! nice one. strongly agree; IMO he is the shot in the arm we need. our fans will always be loyal, but by the same reasoning part of beibg a warriors fan is a thirst to succeed. right now i think he'll help us do that. thats what matters. :thum:thegimble posted:I really do not see what the problem some have with him. OK he jumps up and down at games but not at any one time can i ever remember or have heard anyone comment that he has been disrespectful to us in the past. People us this to generalise the man without making any reference to an actual event.
We had the Bulls game where he played reserves but he did that a season or 2 before then, the same season as we did them in Scotland.
Seems to me if he had come from Widnes, Wakey, Warrington or London or any other club having behaved in the exact same manor as he did at the Saints we would all be delighted in having a World Class coach.
Almost all of us have bereated the club for not making 1 WC sigining since Lam and when we get one what happen a large section on here moan.
He is the best coach in SL. His record of mediocre players punching above their weight is remarkable. Hooper, Gardner and his light weight packs. Apart from 2 other choices in Chris Anderson and Shaun Edwards there were no other choice outthere of adequate quality for the job.
What i did pick up on in his comentary work was that he was either in the process of becoming the coach or had already signed.
He never critisied any of our players in the second half and said even when we went behind in the last few miunute we coould win. But he did have a go at the Giants during the 1st half.
I for 1 am made up we have him i might be the only one but i want what is the best for us. And at this moment in time he is.
This has been mentioned before. Didn't he say "we" when referring to Wigan at one point?thegimble posted:

I'm with you on that one. He has a lot to prove to me before I start ranting and raving about the signing of Milly. I'm glad Betts wasn't sacked too that would have been disgraceful. I was totally against Milly coming here and have been since the rumours started but I've got to (ashamedly) admit that Iwas a little excited about the prospect this morning. I just hope he doesn't play by the same rules he did when at Saints, I don't want to see a deliberately weakended team playing.Fraggle posted:
My thoughts on Millward have been well-voiced on here and I certainly won't be joining in any "Ian Millward's Barmy Army" type chants. He's an arrogant cheat in my book who has brought bad publicity to the sport on more than a couple of occasions. If he tries putting out weakened Wigan teams as he did for the Stains then I'll be writing to the board asking for a refund on my match ticket. I hope it won't come to that, but with Millie you never know.
As for Farrer, I hope he's getting the boot. Can anyone tell me why we needed a defensive coach in the first place? We've consistently been in the top 3 defence-wise for the last few years, yet as soon as he's turned up we became utterly shambolic in tackling. He's added nothing to the team, and one thing Millward definitely can do positively is give him the boot, irrespective of the fact Farrer was Millie's boss earlier in his career.
I do remember somthing along those lines in the second half. Just the way he talked that night made it look like he had aleady signed.DaveO posted:This has been mentioned before. Didn't he say "we" when referring to Wigan at one point?thegimble posted:

If so he has bought into the place already and is looking ahead and not fondly back at his Saints past.

Its like stqartring a new job anywhere you go. Just as with the players that ive said starts now with a clean sheet as far as im concerned the same applies to IM.MrsLam posted:I'm with you on that one. Prehaps you should rant and rave a little Frau Lam, let it all out now... Milly hauled a good bag of trophies with saints, every season with them. They were on fire this season as well, then, as soon as he goes, Saints crash at hull, and hardly managed to win convincingly at Widnes. He obviously was influential and astute, attributes betts will gain (under Milly) with a few more years exp. Time will tell if you should be raving, but im optimsitic, and so am gettin the beers in early for this one!MrsLam posted:I'm with you on that one. I think that is true for all of us who have reservations about Millward if we are honest. Well done for coming clean and giving me the opportunity to do the same!MrsLam posted:

No, me either. That is where my reservations lie. I am not bothered about his arrogance or his goldfish gob impressions but that was the thing that got me about his coaching at Saints.I just hope he doesn't play by the same rules he did when at Saints, I don't want to see a deliberately weakended team playing.
