Not being funny but I would rather we signed Carmont back - at least he was a far better centre better than Gelling
I'm a better fan than you
Because I don't "Boo"!!!

Yes I bloody know transfer fees do not count on the salary cap for those illiterates that need it explaining to them because they assume everyone is as thick as they are

The problem with this signing is not just the total lack of ambition or the clubs seeming inability to scout for new talent anymore but what it says about how the club is going to address the mounting problems it's faced over the last three seasons which was mainly the attack.

In his last season with us Sarge made 44 errors, (second highest in the league and 12 more than Charnely who was 2nd in this at Wigan) and gave away 20 penalties (joint second highest at Wigan, Tautai top on 21) for a return for just four tries.

This signing is going to help fix the attack how?

Of course he will be cheap, im sick of saying its all about the cheap options for IL but some on here still think the sun shines out of him.He will not spend serious money its as simple as that.
But we are supposed to be at the cap limit. So if we are and given Sam T and Williams are marquee players (so only a portion of their wages count on the cap) we are chucking a lot of money at too many average or old players.

That is something to have a pop at IL at, not that he isn't spending. The money is being spent badly.

Sarginson is another example. He's not playing for free is he!
No Sarginson is not playing for nothing, but he was a disaster in the NRL and has had no interest from other clubs apart from HKR.He will be another cut price signing like Mossop who admitted he could have gone to Leeds for more money, like Joel, another failure in RU and Tommy, a fine player but past his best.I do not believe that Rads, Wane and Lenagan really think that the signings we are making are top drawer, they know better but they do recognise poundland signings and thats the crux of the matter.

If it was a choice between Gelling or Sarginson I would rather have Bateman.

You obviously have some "soft spot" for Gelling for some reason and if you think fans should be "happy" about the either/or scenario you claim we had as if either filled themselves with glory, you are deluded - just read the messages on here.

I think I would rather we resigned Hock - he at least he USED to be decent. Not inconsistent/unproven/non-specialized/injury prone/mistake ridden/squad filler and that would have allowed Bateman to play centre until the shambles of the balance of the squad is sorted
you really do like putting words in peoples mouths or keyboards in this case :).

and a softspot for a player that is entertaining, keeps you guessing adds a bit of excitement.... sure why not.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

This, to me is either a very poor signing or a very clever one. If its to replace Gelling who I don't rate its a bad one because this guy isn't a centre,

If on the other hand we are using the money we saved from Tierney , Gregosn etc and he is here to provide cover across the backs then fine. His best position when he played for us before was at full back.

The club havent come out and give us much info, so as normal, we are left to speculate.

It doesnot bode well though when the likes of Wakefield, Catalans are signing more "exciting" players.
We are plodding along signing bang average players or projects.

The Club need to come out and show us the vision, at the moment we are going from one downer to another.

Whats next Mxllorum out, Hock in.

My last point is there are underlying issue that this coaxh can only coaxh players who he knows and understands his cultures.

I think this every time we sign a "project" player. They always seem to get games in preference to home grown talent yet we are supposed to have the best production line in the game.

If the club wants to sign players from outside the club they should be to bring something to the club, mainly experience and physical maturity (as well as being decent players of course), not players who need the club to improve them. We have an academy full of such players.

Absolutely appalling.
Never mind the money wasted on season tickets think of the poor 127 misguided fools who have signed up for Australia.
