It looks like FPN and family have not settled. But he is still under contract so was reluctant to go home and jeopardise that cash. So we got the story about his signing for wests’ feeder club and the subsequent denial. We just sat tight and called his bluff. Looks like we are ill get him off our books without having to continue to pay his wages etc...
which frees up yet more salary cap space just in time to get a signing or 2 in before the first home game.

It sounds like Lenagan has played a blinder on this one, giving Frank enough rope and taking him to Australia so he could defect, the man is a business mastermind, now to bring in Konnie Hurrell and Junior Paulo

Imo being home sick is just an excuse,if you had a choice of living in the north of England or Australia which would you honestly choose.
If you are winning it will sort on compensate but if not it'll just highlight the problems. Budgie also clearly prefers the NRL and that way of life so I can see him jumping along with Sutton (still unsure about Bateman)

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Well, most of us are here...Josie's friend wrote:if you had a choice of living in the north of England or Australia which would you honestly choose.
And I don't imagine many posters here have a burning wish to live in Australia, or presumably they'd have done something about it, I know I haven't.
I have lived in a country with all-year warmth and sunshine, and that's nice, but you soon find out it's hardly the most important thing.

Home is where your heart is .... Im happy here.
Re: Frank
How about the club simply talked to the player discussing his family situation and simply gave him the option to leave? The idea the club was waiting for him to "hang himself" implies the club has a nasty side to its dealings with players and is not professionally run in that it was simply hoping a player would ask to leave.Wes wrote:If the club came out and said Franks not happy we are going to help him leave they may have put themselves in a position where other clubs could take advantage and we end up paying part of his salary for a season or two why he plays elsewhere.
If the club stayed quiet to let Frank hang himself and leave they may now be in a position where his whole salary is now free from our cap.
I’m not saying that is definitely the case but honestly how does anyone know and which would you prefer?
