Yeh, but Forber is a tremendous prospect, just caught up with the Widnes game and he was very good. Created a drop goal and try with good decision making, passed quickly from dummy half and put in a faultless defensive display. Maybe we should look at Joe Edge who was MoM from fullback.fozzieskem wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 1:54 pmOf course it isn’t other positions need filling that’s why I was surprised with the oniell news,Leeming is here as number 1 hooker he’s not there to make numbers up after all that’s why he left Leeds him not playing enough so to me Forber has next season at best to make huge in roads into the side,we shall see.

Ratchford, who is coming through the academy, is also looking good. He may ultimately benefit from the 4 year deals handed to Leeeming and O'neill if Forber moves on to get first team rugby.

Tom Forber has extended his loan at Widnes Vikings
Vikings are delighted to announce that on loan hooker, Tom Forber, has extended his loan from Wigan until the end of the season.
Interim Head Coach Neil Belshaw said “Tom has fitted in seamlessly since he arrived at the club and his performances have reflected that. We are delighted that he will be with us for the remainder of the season and we look forward to more of the same from him.”
Jacob Jones, our back row loanee from Leigh Leopards has been called back by his parent club ahead of the Challenge Cup Final against Hull KR on 12 August. Head of Operations Chris Hamilton said ” Leigh naturally want to make sure they have as many players available as possible ahead of the final and with the end of season deadline being this Friday, 4 August, called Jacob back and he played on Dual Registration with Rochdale at the weekend.”
Hamilton added “It is a busy week throughout the game this week and is no different for us. If we can identify players that will improve us, we will do our utmost to bring them in and maintain the momentum we have gathered in the last few matches but, as many clubs are finding, that is easier said than done.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Tom forber
Why wouldn't Forber return to Wigan?
Eckersley has been at Widnes and according to the club he went well there.
Years ago we had a young second row go to Widnes and he returned, Liam Farrell!

Re: Tom forber
Forber might not stay at Wigan because he might think his chances of getting into the first team are going to be limited when we have Leeming, O’Neil and Powell.

I hope he doesn't leave, he can be the best of the bunch IMHO.
