Didn’t know that but it seems a good ideaCheshireWarrior wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 6:09 pm Should do what Premier League football clubs do, they sometimes have a traditional club emblem on either the away shirt or mainly third shirts, best of both worlds then![]()

Re: New Kit
I've noticed Everton have their traditional club badge on their home and away shirts but a completely different basic badge on their 3rd kit. Would love to see the traditional emblem back on at least one of the Warriors shirts.

And yet more sponsors added to the kit little wonder it's not been released yet they'll be running out of space on it at this rate
Re: New Kit
Always a good sign more sponsors are signing up. Obviously the club who wins the SL probably has a lot of business climbing onboard but on and off the field we look to be building something specialfozzieskem wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:48 am And yet more sponsors added to the kit little wonder it's not been released yet they'll be running out of space on it at this rate

Exactly. The badge is crap and the old one had heritage. Like throwing out your vintage Omega watch and replacing it with a cheapo off the market.DaveO wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 12:52 amWell you can’t keep mentioning it every week. Doesn’t mean people like it and wouldn’t prefer the old crest does it?Wigan_forever1985 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 12:37 pm
remember when they changed the badge and everyone kicked up a huge stink - yet its actually never mentioned now
Some of the comments Rads made at the time it was launched made him come over like an imbecile. Very sad for one of my favourite players and the best No1 I have seen in a Wigan shirt.
However, what can you do if the club wish to stick with it?

Warriors partner with GIBCharriots Offiah wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:44 pm https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/rugby- ... oe-4408361
Wigan Warriors are pleased to announce a new Training Kit partnership with GIB, who will appear on the sleeves of all Wigan Warriors team training wear.
The initial one-year deal will see the GIB logo feature on the sleeve of the 2024 Kappa training wear, which will be worn by all Warriors teams.
Unlike many of Wigan’s kit sponsors, GIB is not a business but denotes from the initials of Wigan Warriors fan Glyn Briscoe, brother of former Warrior Shaun Briscoe.
Glyn struggled with various complex conditions in his life from the age of 8 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. That led to further complications in later life including loss of sight, speech, ability to eat or drink and the ability to use the right hand side of his body.
Doctors initially didn’t expect him to make it past his 18th birthday but he surpassed expectations and lived to the age of 38 before his condition finally got the better of him.
Glyn went to primary school with Warriors Head Coach Matt Peet and his dad went to school with Matt’s mum. His favourite Wigan players were Kris Radlinski and Sean O’Loughlin and Glyn was a proud Season Ticket Holder for a few years when his condition allowed him to attend games.
Before Glyn passed away, Shaun promised Glyn that one day he would get his GIB logo on the Wigan Warriors Kit. The logo is made up of Glyn’s passions, Rugby League (Oval ball/shape), being British (Union Jack), Lego (font style) and his family (His initials).
His brothers Shaun and Dean and Sisters Lindsay and Kirsty have all combined to do this in his memory and as a surprise for his mum Elaine and Dad Carl, who were told on what would have been Glyn’s birthday in August.
The Briscoe’s wanted to try and help a charity that helped Glyn during his life and have selected Wigan based company ‘One Vision’ to try and support. If any Wigan fans would like to support, they can help make a difference to people’s lives and read more HERE. They will also be doing a bucket collection at one of the games in 2024.
Lindsay Briscoe, Glyn’s Sister, said: “Glyn was Wigan Warriors through and through, from being a child celebrating the success of the early 90’s to being a Season Ticket Holder in the West Stand in recent years – his love of the Club never wavered. Before he passed away, he was promised that one day we would get his logo on the team attire and as a family we are delighted that we have been able to do this in his memory.
“Over his life we have been fortunate that many different groups have supported him on his journey and would love to have helped them all, but we have selected ‘One Vision’ to support through the partnership with the Club to try and help them help more people like they did Glyn.”
She added: “He would be so excited that his logo will be worn by the first team, never mind the whole Club and would have told everyone that he came into contact with about it. Glyn would also have worn it with pride as he always did in Cherry and White. Thank you to everyone at Wigan for making this dream a reality for him and we can’t wait for the 2024 season to start.”
On the partnership, Chief Executive Kris Radlinski said: “Everyone within the Wigan Rugby League Community would undoubtedly be familiar with Glyn. His passion for both life and Rugby League served as an inspiration to all.
“Glyn, accompanied by his remarkable family, travelled the globe to witness the sport he held dear. The fact that Shaun, Dean, Lindsay, and Kirsty have chosen to honour their brother in such a manner is genuinely touching. We can assure them that our players will represent his legacy with pride and the utmost honour.”

Class again from our club.
BTW, was speaking to Shaun Briscoe last week asking the usual, how he was his family etc & what he was doing at Robin Park on a Wednesday evening? "I’m just waiting for my son who plays in the U16’s for Wigan Warriors".
Another ex player whose son trains & plays for Wigan Warriors! Must say something about how good our club is in bringing through young players
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: New Kit
Just hope they find room to have more sponsors. Might be room for a groin area sponsor perhaps
