There is also an argument from a different angle in that the human body is a creature of habit, therefore playing a game on Saturday at around the same time as the GF the following week could be of benefit as your body is in the 'habit' of playing on that day and time (albeit it is only one week of a Saturday afternoon as preparation) so will we be more accustomed to the a Saturday evening KO and the body more prepared for it

Daily cycle - yes. Weekly cycle - total cobblers!
Not cobblers at all, your body gets used to routines, whether it is daily or weekly, I would say monthly would be cobblers but weekly is not.
Rubbish.

The daily cycle is based on the human body adapting to a naturally occurring situation.

A week is a man made construct for convenience. No correlation whatsoever to physicality.

A week is still a period of time whether it is man made or not that you 'body clock' recognises, every so many days you exert yourself in a certain way and your body becomes accustomed to it.

I am talking from personal experience and I don't have any science to back it up but, when I used to go to the gym I had Sundays as a rest day, when I changed the schedule I could not lift anywhere near as much on a Sunday as I could on my regular day for the week, likewise when playing RL, when we had fixture changes I did not have the same energy level as I would normally have on a Saturday afternoon, your body gets used to cycles.
