2018 first match England v New Zealand at the KCOM stadium for the Baskerville Trophy,
Stopped on Analby Road, not far from the stadium, at a zebra crossing, when thud! A car ran in the back of me.
Pulled up past the crossing as did the car. My quick thinking pal got out & started taking photos of the damage to my car, the number plate & any damage to the car that hit me.
The driver was a ‘foreign’ guy asked me why had a stopped? People were on the zebra crossing. Again, but why did you stop? So I repeated myself!! He didn’t understand that you had to stop at a zebra crossing.
Anyway I told him I’d have to call the police to report a RTA. While I was on the phone & looking at the damage to the back of my car, my friend shouted, "they’re doing a runner"! The police woman on the end of the phone asked me where have they gone?, can you chase them?? I’ve a job to walk never mind run!
Car doors left open as they scarpered under the flyover. There was mobile phones on the floor of the amongst food wrappers & drink cups.
The police said we will send a car & a rescue truck to pick up the abandoned car & gave me a crime number.
I asked how long will they be? I’m going to the Rugby at the KCOM. It will be about an hour! That’s no good officer KO is at 2.30 & it’s 1.30 now. I’m sorry I can’t wait I’ll shut the doors of the vehicle but I’m going to the rugby my car is fit to drive & off we went.
Watched Lockers

score a great try as well as Oliver Gildart.
When we went back passed where the accident happened, the car had gone,
The police rang me next day with an update & ….. the car had been stolen! I had already contacted my insurance company, but because they had no company to claim from I had to pay for the repairs myself!

Another time going to Hull, Craven Park this time, to watch Scotland play Australia.
We’d left the M62 & were travelling on the dual carriageway. Blue flashing lights behind me, had to find somewhere to come off. I said to my friend my co pilot, I wasn’t speeding I wonder what’s wrong?
Well the traffic cop asked me for my driving licence, sorry, it’s in my main purse at home I’ve only got my rugby purse. What’s wrong?
Well, your car isn’t registered or taxed! What? That can’t be right, I only picked it up yesterday it’s bound to be registered & taxed by the garage it’s a brand new car!
Have you anything to identify yourself? I had my bank card & my season ticket card oh & I had my RAC documents in the car.
Okay, you seem a genuine & honest person, carry on with your journey & contact your car dealership tomorrow, enjoy the game & hopefully you won’t be stopped again, safe journey!!
I’ve umpteen stories it’s just remembering them
