We do not seem to be able to do the basics well and in those conditions v a team that plays to their capability and concentrates on completion we got what we deserved. What I cannot understand is why we falter so bad at the 'basics'. I come from a footballing family. There is nothing remotely hard about kicking a ball, be it a football or a rugby ball. Yet we make it look incredibly difficult.

Very frustrating, and I can't see how to fix things.
So basically 'between us and Cas for the drop?

Looks that way at the moment. They'll have the worst defence no matter what happens this weekend, but we're 2nd worst have conceded 110 points so far. A point for Huddersfield against Wakefield puts us 2nd bottom.

I have just looked at the Super League table now, and should Castleford beat Leeds on Sunday, then Wigan could be 12th!!!!!!! Come on boys!!!!!!!!! You've got to get yourselves out of an eextremely big hole.

Lucky for us that wont happen

From what ive read we fell apart more in the 2nd half was this when Millward made all his changes ie dallas to fullback etc, so wouldnt him taking all the players out of position be to blame

Down on paper we have one of the best teams in superleague but yet we still fail. Its unorganised, unstructured, the team still lacks a leader. Totally agree about Godwin, he is class. Think the players need to play in their positions, I dont understand why Milward is constantly playing players out of position.
We desperately need a quality stand-off.

I also think the wigan fans need recognition as being the most dedicated followers given last nights awful performance.

Definately missed a leader last night. It was a blow that O'Loughlin was injured because he has the ability to read the game. I think Millward is still playing around with the team and trying players in different positions in real match situations, is this not part of building the team? Some might think that I am not setting my standards high enough but if you don't try you never know, none of us know what might have worked well during training.

One thing Millward is possibly guilty of is changing things around a bit quick. I can understand why he put Dallas at the back opposed to Ashton at the start of the second half. Dallas is more expereienced and better able to read their attack. At times Ashton's positioning looked a bit out. On Salford's last play-the-ball he didn't follow the play that well at times. I'm not sure whether its possible to anticipate where the ball will go in Academy rugby so he moves early to get a head start?

With Orr coming off, I thought he looked a bit slow at dishing the ball out which is why I think Godwin and Higham were both on at the same time. Godwin has impressed me this season and Higham is improving. When Higham was on he seemed to be the only one shouting anything between players.

Over all very poor game, although we were consistent at conceding in each half for once (the optimists may see this as a positive!). I think Millward will learn a few things from the mistakes me made last night and we can only come back stronger learning from those mistakes. I have a feeling we're going to have a slow first half to this season which will pick up as we get towards the summer.

I have just read somewhere on cherryandwhite.co.uk, that Tickle had his worst game yet in a Wigan shirt last night. A bit of a quiet start to this season for Tickle.

It's difficult Rob. I do think there is a validity in people realising we need to blend in new players but I think that is being exacerbated by the constant changing. However, what we do not know is whether or not IM is deliberately experimenting or if he had a vision and that is changing based on how people have responded. As an example, did IM believe Orr was his no1 stand off but unimpressed decided to try Brown.

I do hope people realise how important O'Loughlin is and that our worst effort coincided with his absence. Maybe, he's a better captain than some imagine.

First Things First That Was The Worst Game Of Rugby League I Have Ever Seen Wigan Play Since The 70-0 Defeat By Scum-Helens.I Have A List That Coinciedes With Wigans Demise Over The Last 12 Months.
No1 Attack To Shallow.
No2 Tactics To Predictable.
No3 Vaealiki?
No4 Tickles Tackling?
No5 No Use Of Wingers.
No6 To Relient On Prop Forwards.
No7 No Natural Leader.
No8 No Passion.
No9 No Flair.
No10 No Speed.
No11 And What The Hell Is Farrar Doing There Defensive Coach My Arse.
The Lack Of Using The Wingers Is A Big Concern Calderwood Top Try Scorer For 2 Consecutive Seasons Not Getting Ball In The Right Areas=No Trys This Season.Sliding Defence None Existant Opposition Scoring In The Same Areas Of The Pitch All The Time Might As Well Be Sat In The Stands Thats How Much They Slide Over.People Stood Around Whem Prop Forwards Are Making The Yards. No Support. No Kick And Chase. The List Goes On And On Please Tell Me If Im Wrong Its Like Watching Sonny Nickle Run The Whole Lengh Of The Field Just Not Happening. There Needs To Be A Serious Change In Tactics From Millward And A Natural Leader Brought In (Not Paying Radlinski Any More Eases Salery Cap)Just To Get Something Out Of This Season.
