Although not a Wiganer, as a rugby fan I would say that Shaun Edwards, Ellery Hanley, Martin Offiah would have to be the best Wigan players I saw play. The likes of Kenny, Ferguson, etc didn't play for long enough to become legends, but the names above were all greats in the game, who had their best years at Wigan.
says best player not legend.....

Kept Wally Lewis out of number 6 jersey so cant be bad.

I have to say Ellery Hanley was the greatest player I have ever seen at Wigan.
Brett Kenny would be a very close second.
Shame they didn't play in the same team.
Hanley, Gregory and Kenny. Imagine them three in the same team Doug ?

Best; Hanley without a doubt

Most potential in a single player ?? David Stephenson.

David Stephenson, had he been playing 20 years later, and with the right motivation, would have been the greatest centre the world has ever seen. He had size, pace,a step, and the best hands of any centre to play for Wigan (Gene Miles possibly excepted)He had it all.

Trouble was,he didn't need the money, and was too fond of the pop. But a great player nonetheless.

Considering he was clueless when he first started playing for Wigan, I have to say the player that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up was Vaiga Tuigamala. If he'd have come into the game a couple of years earlier, he would have easily become the best player in the world. On top of that, he was and remains a very nice human being. Another player up there with him is the one and only Frano Botica, the best goal kicker it has been my privilege to see.
Good point about Frano, Faz was reliable but Botica was phenomenal.

A true great who always came up with the goods, what I'd give to see him on the pitch with the current squad !!
