IMO there is just too much (for lack of a better word) passion and rivarly between many clubs because they are all so local to each other. Don't get me wrong I was glad when a try was scored, but I was secretly disappointed at the end of the game and the Saints players had been awesome and the best on the park.
Is it not a team game?, Did Newton not create two tries?
(Bradford player by the way) Did Senior not support Whellans for his try?, Did Danny not score two fantastic trys?, What about the tackle from Gleason? Come on man get a grip, It's a team effort and don't forget it, I personally think we had a lot as Wigan fans that we could be proud of, When Feka ran over the top of Morley?, (I know he played for the Kiwis) Fieldens input as the next Waynne Rooney LOL (but i think Noble may have been thinking of this weekend) And Harrison Hanson did pretty well, Lockers will be the next 13 for GB (Sculthorpe i believe is near the end, Just my opinion) At the end of the day those players on the field represented Great Britain and i don't care who they play for at club level, I remember a time when Wigan had an amazing amount of players representing Great Britain, But as far as i was concerned they played for Great Britain, Not Wigan. But hey ? Thats just me.
Well maybe a Bradford player, but what he was banned for is what they were booing him for.

You don't say?, You have missed my point totaly, Great Britain????? Should Morley get crap from every other Aussie fan? Did Edwards get crap from every other Aussie fan??, These guys are playing for Great Britain for gaod sake, Support the national team is what i'm saying, If i pay to watch them (as i did on tuesday) then i go to cheer them not boo them, I can only say my opinion of a Stains fan is a lot lower than it was on tuesday night, And it was not very good before then.

I didn't miss your point because as clearly stated in my previous posts i said Long didn't get that abuse at the JJB because it was playing for GB at the time.

the idiots from stains were at it again booing newton when he got the ball. this was more evident when he was close up on the big screen. its about time these clowns realised newt is also a gb player.
its absolutely pathetic that the saints fans were booin terry. they need to get over it now and besides sean long brings it on himself. im surprised more people havent got longy on the pitch the way terry did. They are all just jelous of wigan that we can make history when we are the top of the table and we are also going to make it at the bottom because no team who has been at the bottom at this time in the season have stayed up and wigan are going to. so i wouldnt let all the stains fans get to you all because we wil be laughing at them when they have no jamie lyon next season because without him they will be nothing!!

There's a lot more to Saints than Lyon.
I think they should be starting to worry, though, in that Scully, Long & KFC are all nearing the end of their careers.

i dont think there is anything more to saints than lyon. sean long doesnt do a lot if somebody is there to tackle. scully is having an awful season and cunningham is in and out of the game. if you think about how many tries lyon has scored for saints and he is goalkicking i mean i know that isnt a problem they got others but he gets most of their points

I agree with that, the core of their team has been around for years now, and whilst they survived the retirements of people like Tommy Martyn and Chris Joynt, the next generation of Saints players doesn't seem to be quite so good. They replaced Blobby Goulding with Slong, which didn't really lose them anything, but who is there to take over from Long? Who's the next Sculthorpe? We've now got the guy that would have taken over from KFC. These three very key players are probably all going to finish around the same time, and I'm very much hoping the effect of that is going to be at least as disruptive to them as the loss of Farrell has been to us! It's not going to happen for a couple of years, let's hope they don't sort things out in that time!

Long has received abuse in local derbies for obvious reasons at the JJB, but never once did he get the same sledging that Newton got last night, when we have had internationals at the JJB.
Absolutely correct - Long got booed at most grounds after the betting fiasco but I never heard anyone boo him in an international match. I dropped the RFL an email after the challenge cup game which we watched at home with some friends who know nothing about rugby - we had been telling them what a fabulous game it is and how it is more family orientated etc only to hear loud and clear "Die Newton Die" over the airwaves. Briefly thought of telling our friends that it was a Welsh player they were shouting at (Dai Newton :eh: ) but decided not to insult their intelligence. Drop the RFL a line at
enquiries@rfl.uk.com then maybe next time they will put an important match away from muppetland
