At last" YOU GOT IT the guy signed up on big bucks to play centre. The money was all that he desired. The fact he could not do the job was not in his mind set. He is STEELing MONEY
Richards decided to come here early in his career before he had a family as he wanted to go overseas and saw doing that at this time in his life as ideal. He is using his profession to help him fulfill that particular ambition as many people do.
This seemed a very mature way of looking at it to my mind as rather than wait until he was 30 or so he made a concious decision to leave a Grand Final winning side with whom he was doing well to move to Wigan to fullfill his desire to travel.
He had a settled career in his team but chose to move on not stay in the comfort zone.
This was all well documented before he came so to say he is only here for he money is stupid.
Yes he was signed as a centre and it has not worked out but I thought we had all decided that was a mistake made by the club and had moved on. We can't change it so why bother going on about it?
I don't suppose he enjoys being dropped and he will know if he does not play well he won't get in the team. Seems fair enough to me given Boble has praised his attitude while in the U21.
While we have struggled at centre due to the poor form of DV and Richards when played there, at least we now have competition for places on the wing.

LITTLE RANT: I do not like the media and coaches trying to heavily influence the choice beforehand. Both Wellens and Ellis have been promoted and will recieve lots of votes. How much that is deserved or down to promotion we shall never know. Promotuion clouds the issue and their merit.
I like the idea of Matterson getting it. He deserves all the accolades he receives given his achievement.

He played centre before apparantly before he joined wests. Jamie Ainscough came over as a winger to play centre and he did far better than Richards. He aint world clas. What ive seen of him he isnt 1st team class. I could look good with Benji Marshall on the inside of me.

Well, he was instrumental to our recovery away from the bottom of the table - without him going we might still be there!

Completely false.
He wanted to stay in Aus, but the offer was too good to turn down.
He came for the sole purpose off the money.
Nothing wrong in that.
