A 13 that is better than just good.
Agreed. One that can last the full 80 mins, top the tackle count each week and has a kicking game......er, hold on a minute..... :with:
Is this the same one who tackled high all season giving to many penalties away, the one who cannot put a man down on the floor, not forgetting who has no power to go forward what so ever along with very little evidence this season of any ball handling skills.... er hold on a minute

I'm not going to argue with you here as I have learned it's a futile experience. I will ask you to think about a couple things instead. Firstly the 'putting the man on the floor'. It is acknowledged that Wigan have been dominating games in the latter half of the season because on average they are dominating the ruck and are on average playing the ball around a second quicker than thier opponents. Check out how long Lockers holds up players in the tackle both upright and on the ground. Count it out if you like. You will find that the oppositions play the ball is considerably slower when he is involved than any other player, yet he hardly ever gets penalised for it. Any guesses yet as to why this is? Next check out a technique known as 'winning the wrestle'. Any clues yet? Oh hell, I'll make it easy for you....watch O'Loughlin, open your eyes, notice that there is a correlation between our top tackler and the opposition's slower play the balls and maybe you might enjoy watching him more. Then again, I won't hold my breath!
I understand perfectly what you are saying and to be honest regarding Lockers tackling you are way of the mark here.
I know of the technique regarding holding a player up to gain time to set the line but this is not the case with Lockers.
His technique is very poor, very poor indeed. Let me explain!
Under no circumstances do you ever let a player get ahead of you when tackling, you never let him push you to either side. You must, let me repeat that you must always stay defensive side at all times were possible. This is a basic technique, Lockers falls away from tackles on too many occasions, he finishes low on the player with a strong possibility of the player pulling free and continuing. If it was not for support you will find he will struggle putting the man down on a one on one situation.
Putting it very clearly and simple for you.
HE CAN’T TACKLE PROPERLY

:9 I despair at some of our supporters. they always want a whipping boy. lolckers is that player it seems.
Firstly, if somebody talks about tackling techn ique and fails to recognise that his tackling technique has changed then they do not know what they are talking about. Lockers is a brilliant 1 v 1 tackler. He can drop any player, Earl Crabtree springs to mind. Unfortunately, he was taught by the old school and a combination of a change in interpretation and bad press meant he was conceding penalties.
So, Lockers now does not drop opponents with the same venom, he is more passive, deliberately so. The flip side being he does not conceded penalties anymore. Nobody gets past him still but yes hes stopping the runner and requires a second tackler to drop him. Is this sacrifice worth it? Well given how bad penalties hurt teams, YES
If somebody posted about bad tackling technique and used it across the whole team theyd gain more respect from me but when they use it to JUST attack Lockers then they fall into the lets have a whipping boy mob. The worst tackling techniques in the Wigan team are Feka and Tickle
