What did you think of the interview Dave?
Struck me here was a guy saying I will be in Wigan, I will be running the club, Joe will be playing an important role in the holding company. If Ian Lenagan is going to be so hands on then Joe Lydon has a superb tutor and will not be given carte blanche to do what he wants.
He clearly outlined how important the JJB lease / Orrell was. No easy task to secure that IMO.

What is there to be impressed about? Same coach, same players, same ground, inexperienced CEO and a new owner who is saying nothing about his vision for the club and the issue that most fans find the most pressing - next years squad.
Dave
I generally have time for your views, but the highlighted quote above says it all about your attitude in recent times.
Talk about determined to look on the glum side.
Do you want a new coach and a new ground? Presumably not, so why include them in your laundry list of disdain?
An inexperienced CEO, granted. But you don't know how Lenagan's companies work, so you're not in a position to comment. Just trotting out the dictionary definition of a CEO won't cut it.
A vision for the future? Presumably he has one, otherwise he wouldn't have paid so many millions for ownership of the club. There's plenty of time for him to outline his vision of the future. There's also plenty of time for him to talk about next year's squad. The deal's only just been signed.
For Heaven's sake, give the man a chance.

Ultimately if you take the negative view of Lydon then is it not hypocritical to presume that you or anybody else here are as qualified as Lenagan when selecting a CEO ? Are you not in essence contradicting yourself?

I think it's more a case that certain people have just been determined to be underwhelmed by this take-over from the outset. Some deluded themselves into thinking that Lenagan would unveil half a dozen Aussie superstars. Others, in typical Wigan fan fashion, were so ready to be unimpressed by this change, that they started shooting from the hip on the basis of a few brief quotes in a press release before the bulk of the press conference was even aired.
After watching the video that you link to above, I personally feel even happier. That makes it pretty clear that Ian Lenagan will be chairman and will be running the club, and that Lydon, as CEO in the holding company will have a much junior role. You're right about the Orrell facility too - that's now exclusively ours, and according to my inside info, Lenagan fought one hell of a fight to get hold of it.

Should we not be concerned that this guy now has a vested interest in 2 super league clubs. This leaves us wide open to allegations of corruption

For God's sake, grow up.
