The statistic no-one can change. One in One must die. No-one lives forever. Mike Gregory came into this world and at the young age of 43 has now departed. What makes him stand out is what he did with those few precious years. The tributes that come in from here and many other places speaks volumes of the man himself. By reputation we know him. The many that knew him personally can appriciate him more. His family to whom my heart felt prayers go out have the greatest loss. Some will say this is tempered by the fact that his pain has ended but grief does not work that way. Soon the memories of the illness will fade. What is left is a chasm that nothing can fill. On the path between birth and death that we all walk some stand higher than others by what they put in to it. For the pleasure and pride he installed in others be it club or country, player or coach, he walked tall. Mike Gregory the legend will live on. Please remember his family. Not now but in the weeks and months ahead. The empty chair at Christmas, The presents already bought but now causing hurts because he is not going to be there to collect. Left alone when the "pity party" has withdrawn to get on with their lives is the time the family need you most. I have often said "there is no lonlier person than a widow/widower six weeks after the funeral". Please in their hour of need be there for them. JIm (HC)

he should be inducted into the wigan warriors hall of fame in my opinion. It would be great for his wife and kids to walk out on the jjb field and to be shown what the wigan warriors fans think of him and the family. Ive got a great idea. What about inducting him against warrington? It would be a great tribute to him.
I think someone has come up with a great idea on rlfans.

Because of Mike Gregory's efforts for rugby league as a whole his name should live on forever in rugby league.

So from 2008 I think the man of steel award should be called:

The Mike Gregory Man Of Steel Award
That is a great idea.

My familys idea was reviving the annual Locker Cup friendly against Warrington.

However, rename it the Mike Gregory Cup and all profits could go into research of the disease which Mike had.

I think the Mike Gregory trust will grow larger with respect to the man and what that charity can achieve.

RIP Mike.
Always will be a Legend to the Game.

I agree about the Man of Steel award being re-named!

Maybe we should show our tributes and our appreciation in the 2008 season by singing songs dedicated to the legend of our game.
People may not agree but it was just a thought.

Thankyou. RIP Mike
