I am afraid that is one of my biggest moans about O'Loughlin. In matches where we don't really care if we win or lose he can be at his best. In tight (well what should be tight) games and important must win games he goes AWOL. Mentally he is not strong enough. I still insist that with him as Captain, Wigan will struggle to win any silverware.

"lockers, sort your team out, alright?!" says the ref
so he strolls back to the line, doing..... nothing. i hate to just knock o'loughlin for todays diar display but he is a pathetic excuse for a captain. we need a loud captain!
alot of these first teamers aren't pulling their weight, they must think they're starting place is set in stone. well mr noble, its time for a change. if you don't peform, see how they get on in the reserves for petes sake.
Unfortunately they will still get their contracted first team pay where ever they play. :exc:

the difference being however, is that the youngsters who get given the chance are more than likely going to earn what we pay them.

Was discussing this very topic in the boozer on Friday night (where many a world problem has been solved). I said that Lockers was - in my humble opinion - an excellent player but the burden of captaincy was stifling his game. In support of this argument, I pointed to the Test Series against NZ when he got MOM in one Test and came second to Burrow in another. I said it would be an act of kindness to take the captaincy from him now and give it to someone else when one of the lads said, "Perhaps nobody else wants it!"
That, I think is probably the case. The only person on the Wigan side whose body language suggested that he was bothered by the 'butchering' we were receiving was Leuluai.
Agree with DaveO - if there is nobody in the squad who will step up to the plate, we need to look elsewhere.

i think it's just what we needed if i'm being honest.
we beat hudds by one point with two tries in the last few minutes, we need to get a bit of a doing over.
This should waken some of the players up! Goulding especially, he was in some vital calls in that game, Bailey's disallowed try and his knock on which led to saints' third i think it was.
Barrett has to get his finger out to! he's not been good at all this season, people can make all the excuses for him about the surfaces etc. but he's in his second year now so there's no excuses. Tommy was great again, man of the season so far for me, George was good and i thought O'carroll ran well.
Colbon/Calderwood interchanged at fullback and that i think was the deciding factor, many tries were scored against us on the break, that's why we need a fullback not a winger in the position.
i had a great day though

But was he the worst? Trents defence? Colbon? Fielden?
The only positive I could find was young McIllorum out of an entire team.
and tommys was our best forward ,but thats not what we pay him 4

Nowt to do with me son, i just added my usual opinion, it seems many others feel the same way and are actually started to voice their concerns, i never started the thread, but with Flash not being around, i couldn't help but voice my opinion. As me donning the 13 shirt, i always played at 8 mate and unlike Lockers i could break the tackle :sly:

WHY DOES THE BLAME ALWAYS LAND ON ONE PLAYER!!!! THERE IS NO I IN TEAM.
Every player should be a captain in my eyes. Go out every week, do your job , "That there getting paid for" and hopefully pulll off a win. Theres no point blaming 1 person thats just unfair.
