Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Just been watching Cats v Hudds. There are challenges in this match that are going unpunished bar penalties that make Mathers look like a choir boy and far worse than the McLlorum tackle even though it is Klein, the same referee.

Agree Cp the one from Ferriol and then the one from Fakir where a million times worse than Mathers v Matt King, Mathers v Demetriou and Mcillorum v Gilmour? or was it Wilkin can't remember now but they were both very malicious I thought.cpwigan wrote:Just been watching Cats v Hudds. Re: Ben Thaler
There you have it, that is inconsistency from the SAME referee, as if it is not bad enought hat there are different interpritations by all 6 referees there is also ONE referee - Klein who goes out and interprets high shots differently than a couple of weeks ago - aka Wigan vs Saints?!?!?! :conf: :conf:cpwigan wrote:Just been watching Cats v Hudds. Re: Ben Thaler
Ben Thaler failed to sin bin Mark Calderwood for a professional foul on Danny Brough. So in effect, the referee loses control.
stevo reckoned on sky sports that calderwood done nothing wrong and he was allowed to use a shoulder charge, so was it a wrong call or is stevo just talking crap again?

Sorry, but Calderwood was running in the same direction as Brough and so was entiled to shoulder charge him in my opinionWESTCUMBRIARIVE RSIDER wrote: Ben Thaler failed to sin bin Mark Calderwood for a professional foul on Danny Brough. So in effect, the referee loses control.

Re: Ben Thaler
Correct. Not often I agree with Stevo, but he was right in that case In any event, Calders is miles quicker, so wouldn't need to obstruct him.josie andrews wrote:Sorry, but Calderwood was running in the same direction as Brough and so was entiled to shoulder charge him in my opinionWESTCUMBRIARIVE RSIDER wrote: Ben Thaler failed to sin bin Mark Calderwood for a professional foul on Danny Brough. Re: Ben Thaler
Was quite happy before the game when I saw Thaler was ref as I rated him as the best of the six.
I now rate him equally with the other five.
He simply had no control of the game.
Next season I might buy a season ticket to watch Ganson or Klein, as these days when I go to watch two sides playing rugby I invariably come away discussing the referees performance above that of either team.
The only good thing I can say about him on that performance is that he created a close, exciting game through his incompetence.
