Unfortunately with Nobby we do not know who are good or bad. Mathers was awful for us but is a breath of fresh air at Wires. There are a number in the Wigan team who, I think, could be very different under the right coach. We want a leader of men and a team that are prepared to work for him. Noble is certainly not that. I hope IL knows the right man for with few new players coming in he will be expected to do a Giants and turn the Warriors into an exciting and challenging outfit.

God you are presuming IFL acts based on what fans say and that IMO is patently untrue. He acts solely on what he thinks. He has not reached the position he has by pandering to public opinion. No fan should ever imagine any club bases major decisions of his/her/their view(s).
Why do you presume a new coach would struggle? Nathan Brown a struggling NRL coach seemed to do OK in SL. Most coaches start somewhere as an assistant. Melbourne appointed an assistant coach and the rest was history. John Monie was an assistant coach and he took over from Jack Gibson.

God wrote:Noble goes, and on here it will be a party hoorahh the bad coach has gone... mark my words better the devil you know because as it stands, at this very moment, there is not a coach available that is considered "World class"
Noble wasn't available when we got him.
You think 11 defeats is bad, wait until next year if we appoint an assistant Aussie or an in house coach.
I.L will get the blame, but for what?, listening to the fans and seeing Noble go down the road.
You simply cannot leave things as they are with 11 defeats one season after another. Will the new coach be better? Well that is the plan but of course no one has a crystal ball but I'll say it again, you can't leave things as they are because we are not good enough.
He sould have been given another year or two just so we can work angles on a coach we deserve. I.L will be shot down in flames if he gets this wrong. But if he appoints a "World class" coach all the things that have been said about I.L will be all forgotten.
According to IL Noble only wants one more year in SL and given his record with us there is no point giving him another year here out of nothing but sentimentality because that is the only reason I can think of under the circumstances people want to give him the contract. Three seasons of dour rugby and lost semi finals is enough.
A win is a win no matter how it looks or how we play, winning scruffy is the signs of Grand Finalists. Castleford have blown teams out of the water after we went there and won a very hard fought game. What does that say about us? we have character to win the hard games.
We have what it takes to win the Grand Final without luck, without dodgy desigions by the reff and without fans of this club suggesting we cant. See you at Old Trafford.
No one thinks it impossible we will get there but given the way we have played this season and where we will finish in the league it is much less likely we get there than the teams above us. That is the whole point of the playoffs and is just common sense.
Hes in between a rock and a hard place and i believe at this very moment if Noble goes hes made a mistake.
3 defeats in 13 games is as good as the top 2, better than Saints who have lost 5. Leeds have lost 2 one of them against us. And lets have it right the defeat to Saints sould never have been no matter how you look at it.
Unfortunately our league position isn't determined by the last 13 games but all 27. What that means is three years in a row we have given ourselves too much to do. It is Noble who carry's the can for the slow starts.
In 2007 and 2008 we ran out of steam and that was with Barrett and Hock in the side. What makes you think we won't run out of steam again?
As I said its not impossible to get to the GF because the play off system is a knock out competition but it is unlikely we will get there. We are not "serious contenders" as Jim put it because we will finish 5th or 6th so we are merely in with a shout.

God wrote:Then why hold fans forums? IMO the fans have spoken over the appointment of Noble and its even reached the commantary box on Sky more than once this season. Why wouldnt he listen??
The fact Warrington won the Challange Cup was the final nail in Nobles coffin at Wigan IMO, because as we see it it sould have been Wigan at Wembley not Warrington.
As for the appointment of an Aussie assistant, or a coach with no credentials who looks the part, IMO we will see more than 11 defeats next season.
The fans forums are a public relation exercise God. Fans are important as customers but their views are by and large irrelevant. No organisation will say that but it is the reality.
Owner and coach do not get along despite PR claims to the contrary. Owner and coach disagree on the future direction the club takes.
Why the hang up about an assistant. Coaches have many credentials. Bellamy was an assistant and he has proved himself a fantastic coach. Stephen Kearney had never been anything but an assistant and he won a World Cup coaching his national team. Brian Noble was an assistant when he was given the job at Bradford.
Why would the next Wigan coach struggle? We know our squad is good enough to make the top 4. Does anybody think Wakefield, Hull KR or Huddersfield have better squads than Wigan?

So God are you saying if either of those named or anybody but Noble? You seem to want the odds stacked heavily in your favour but no bookmaker operates like that.
It is not going to happen but would you accept Justin Morgan as a coach?

God who said a new coach that does not have BN record will do worse.
We have to give people a chance. If we didnt give people from Assistant positions a chance then coaches would never come through.
And I would also take the risk of getting a new coach because our last two coaches who are suppose to be the best haven't been outstanding for us have they

Mal tends to be a manager rather than a coach. Neil Henry does the coaching for Queensland in the main. Tim Sheens is filthy rich and too old.
What do you think of Steve Folkes?

Experience as a conditioner. Won a reserve grade grand final, coaches first grade for several years including a GF win (would have won a 2nd but Canterbury had their pouints stripped). Been to the UK as a players for Aus and with Hull IIRC. Available
Not a bad choice IMO.

I honestly believe some great RL talents do not even play RL which is a loss and there must be talents outside the traditional amateur catchment area. It would be arrogant on our part to assume that a small area of Wigan has all the future Wigan RL professional stars.
Greg Mcnally, playing at Whitehaven, on loan from Huddersfield. One for the future, how did he slip through the net.
As someone said, Cumbria is never looked at.
Wath Brow Hornets will be up with the top teams in the National conference this season, but by all acounts now have big links to Bradford Bulls.
I honestly hope certain people will be leaving Wigan at the end of this season, for the sake of recruiting top youngsters.
