Bourbon either owns or runs an excellent Melbourne Storm Forum. Link above.
I'd love to take credit for "The BaiStand" but it's actually owned & administrated by a bloke who answers to the nickname "Buzz". I'm just the oldest bloke on there - I think ?
Some of your posters might have known me under my earlier Alter Ego - PD

Gosh so you were PaperDragon? The first by my reckoning unofficial Wigan forum web site. Nitsua and PEAPOI were the main posters back then IIRC.

Yep - Was fairly basic by today's standard wasn't it :doz:
but it was essentially a meeting place for Wigan RL fans in the aftermath of "The Parrot".
Happy to see this website & Cherry n White thriving

BTW : There were RL fans in Melbourne who thought I was actually running that site from Wigan - Until we were introduced at a Storm after party

My message board signature sums up my feelings for Wigan.
I always knew that I liked this place, you don't have to look to far to find a friendly face, I feel alive when I'm walking on this street, I feel the heart of this city pounding underneath my feet, yeah if the world keeps spinning round and round this is were it all goes down, down, down, THAT'S WHY I LOVE THIS TOWN!.

As to Wigan I think it's an OK town. Not lived there for years and so I can compare it to Chester which is of course a city but must be one of smallest.

I don't have much need to visit Wigan town centre so the homecoming was a rare trip into town. Parked in the new shopping arcade which I think is fine. I don't like what they did to the old market hall. I was still living in the area when it got knocked down and I even went round taking photos of the place but generally I don't think the town has been ruined.

If you want an example of a place that has go to Barnsley where my wife comes from. Ripped to bits that place.

In Chester they have just built a ruddy great Travellodge that looks like a concrete monstrosity and you would think being an old Roman town and having the Rows and all that planners would be keen to keep such things out but not the case. So I think Wigan centre has survived pretty well considering.
