I know it's expensive in the current financial climate but surely it's worth paying to see the lads play the NRL's top team and hopefully roar them on to victory!!

My sentiments as well. I did in fact suggest to my contact at the club that the game should be played at the Man City ground as I thought we could fill that comfortably and it is much better viewing that OT based on the one time I saw a game there, several yuears ago v Oz.gpartin wrote:Don't know the answer to that but I know that the only tickets available on the day were 35 quid plus and at least 2 pubs on Elland Rd were, without exaggeration, full of people who had turned up on the day hoping to get a ticket and not willing to pay so much. Granted Elland Rd is a much bigger stadium but the same thing happened when we played an international match at the McAlpine once too. I'd like to think the WCC should be a sellout anyway with it being in Wigan but as with internationals I think we could have got away with a much bigger stadium for the game using the Netto philosophy of pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap, particularly to kids. If the marketing was done wisely they'd make at least the same amount of money on gate receipts but with the added bonus of matches being more attractive to sponsors, the potential for getting more kids interested in the game and at least attempting to enhance the reputation of Rugby League in general.cpwigan wrote:Exactly BM. I daresay it will sell out.
What was the pricing for the previous WCC involving Leeds?
From what I have seen they do not allow football to be played there eitherKittwazzer wrote:Didn't I read somewhere on here that Man City refuse point blank to allow Rugby League at Eastlands?
