Intersetingly, Harris has jus bin on bbc during half time of the second semi. He says he is hoping to be coachin at the top of super league next year, but that he is only a young coach so it may be as an assistant!!!! :conf:

People wanted a world class coach after Noble and we got an unheard assistant in MM, trust me IL knows what he is doing if he thinks SW and Harris have what it takes then I for 1 will give them a chance because 1 thing IL does do is his homework!

A big chunk of improvements on the pitch have come from an improved team spirit and club culture, but you can't understate the improvements in the technical details of Wigans game under Mcguire. I've had the Wigan tackling technique demonstrated by only one player. It f888888 hurts. All of that innovation comes from Mcguire not Wane.
I'm not sure that Wane has the technical nouse of Mcguire and I'm not sure he has the distance from the players to be able to be an effective gaffer.
As for Harris. He comes from the Brian Noble school of coaching and we had theree years of that. 5 drives and kick for anyone?
My view is that under these two we'll have peaked, hold the peak for a season next year and be in the running again and then start on a slight decline.
I share your fears Rich. I also see Shaun as the Malcolm Allison to Madge's Joe Mercer!
Still, if we get the double this season, which I expect, I will be happy for a transitional year for Shaun to bed in. If it doesn't work out. I'm sure IL will have a back up plan!

Why all the negativity re Wane and Harris? SW has played at the highest level, coached at the highest level in SL.Harris
was an excellent player,and does not appear to be a coach who advocates 5 tackles and kick type of play(not that SW would tollerate that style anyway).As Josie has said Rads does not wish to coach,so do people really think that the powers that be at Wigan would not pick a new asst befitting a club of Wigans stature?

Maybe Yistin will be an assistant coach but not necessarily to Shaun Wayne?
I would like to see Shaun having an up-and-coming young Aussie that maybe MM has told IL about.
IL keeps everything very close to is chest.
Personally, I wouldn't touch Yistin with the traditional barge pole given his less than honourable history (Bradford and Leeds contract goings on).

Lot of panic going about. SW has earned the job on merit. He was a possible before MM two years polishing his skills under MM. The howl went up when MM announce he was heading south Give it to Wanie, Now the doubt sets in. Wane for me Jim
