Really? Where do you live TEW?

I'm not surprised - when I played union at school, we played tick league for a skills session.

Pm'd you rather than put on here
Wot you live in Stains? I would not admit that either,

Seeing as this thread gone a tad off-topic, just raising a different, interesting point re. the RU salary cap. Just seen Saracens "crowd" today (they are the champions, as well!)- they got 4,500.

How the hell can they afford Joel + all the compensation with these numbers - they now averaging less than 5,000 - it's hardly worth opening the gates for the cost of these numbers attending. Good job they are a winning side. They must be bleeding cash out of the club & but for a wealthy benefactor would be bankrupt by now ?

This same weekend Wasps (Shaun Edwards club) drew 4,000 as did Sale and these are supposed "big" clubs along with Leicester & Bath. How does their Salary Cap work ?

Sorry for this post if crossed threads !!

Fully understand your confusion surrounding the economics of any of the English RU clubs at the moment. I think someone else posted much better information regarding who and to what amounts these clubs are losing in the "Wigan Warriors" section (somewhere)

As for Saracens, they also have no less than 14 South Africans in their squad. I seriously hope Joel can speak Afrikaans if/when he should join them

Sky buys two games a week of us and dictate the times and what else we can do. Look how many RU games and leagues are on. Also RU is a saleable item into europes SA and down under. So it is more attractive to sponsers. Then the old school tie bigwigs find in chic to own a RU team. Yes wages and comp might sound high to you and me but to them lads it is small change. Mr bigwig wants on the board. I will buy you JT for my seat. Can I have vice chair if I can get Sam and Joel in a single package. Any idea how big the deals (business) are when you invite someone as your guest into the directors box. My uncle was a silk screne printer.(drew transistor boards). He used photo paper Half million pounds a go. (probably equivelent to £3m now.) He was on the solent in the Kodak yacht on Cowes week. Afga took him to Jackie Stewart. shooting school, Glen Eagles complete with accomodation. Perks to please the buyers. It is the old boys network at a much higher level, £.5M is small change in the annual budget to the likes of someone courting BT, or an oil guiant. Ticket sales are small beer in a champagne market. Look at hospitality charges in JD and put a zoro on it for RU, Jim
