Or, there is no info, but the hack knows their is a rumour, so more people will buy the paper to read the zero info. After all, the latest news could be that there is no change.

IL would never sack Hock IMO. He would sell him yes but given he is a valuable asset and IL always wants a a financial return, the sack would not be an option.
Anyhow, Hock is recovering from a shoulder op.

You will always get rumours where players like Hock are concerned.
More often than not, started by supporters of a local football team when they are not doing well or a rival rugby league club from over Billinge Hill.

Phil Wilkinsons 'news' is just that Hock is injured. Shock horror. Phil really needs to do better.

Where Rugby League is concerned, the local newspapers have not been the same since reporters like Peter Aspinall, Cliff Webb and Jack Winstanley retired. Now more interested in football.

Looks like that us how it has turned out.
The local press are masters at churning out column space with few if any relevant facts in there. Usually with a sensational headline that when you read the article is way over the top.
This time the rumour bit just says this:
"His setback emerged as
fresh rumours over Hock’s future gathered pace.
Coach Shaun Wane declined to comment on the intensifying speculation - but confirmed the 29-year-old is still a member of his playing squad.
Hock was linked with a move away from his hometown club at the end of last season.
He was wanted by Australian club Parramatta and it is understood the player was angling for a switch to the NRL, but the transfer broke down.Hock went under the knife following England’s autumn series win over France and Wales, which forced him to miss the pre-season training camp in Florida."
What fresh rumours? He doesn't mention what they are above or any anywhere else in the article and the Parra deal is old news.
It's often the case there isn't actually any information of note in these articles at all with the one above being a fine example.
