Anybody wanting rid of Ben Flower should hang their head in shame. The whole sorry mess is farcical and Ben will be royally shafted. The LH 'joke' suspension shows how pathetic the RFL are.

RL will never prosper in Britain whilst Lions are being led by donkeys!

If the club fight the ban, it will only do more damage to the image of our club by making it look as we condone what Flower did with the second punch which was committed on a player lying prone on the ground and possibly concussed from the first punch.

As Mike has said, just accept the punishment and move on to next season.

If he gets 1 match for the first punch and 8 for the second I think that would be fair and would take into account the provocation.

More than that and then IMO the RFL will be playing to the media gallery.

Wigan are powerless to influence the RFL panel and really can only react to what is dished out.

If it was a season long ban or something ridiculous like that I'd expect them to appeal and while i think 9 is fair I'd also expect the club to grit their teeth and go with it if it was up to 12.

It will also never prosper if it is led by people who do not look at all sides of a problem before they make a comment!

Neither would I like to be in a trench with someone who can't think for himself, but just follows the band.

And if you look at what I said, I only more or less repeated what Mike said, so why no comment about being in a trench with him.

p.s. and for the record, I suspect that unlike yourself, I have done my bit for Queen and Country.

So stick that up your gun barrel.

The single most worrying aspect of this whole comedy charade is just how lame the toothless tiger that is Wigan RLFC leadership, has appeared throughout. It makes Nev Chamberlain look hardcore!

Im still reading utter BS apologist mentality from some among our own fans as well which is infuriating!. Its something that friends of mine involved in other codes/sports just don't get. United footy fans i know who were used to Sir Alex for years defending multiple indiscretions by his flock, but always publicly fighting their corner at the highest level.

Many rah rah players i know who see players routinely get bans for head stamping & gouging etc but who's clubs will go to QC level to try & reduce lengthy RFU bans.

Its been mentioned already & i emphasise again,if this was the sheepsh****** from over them hills, you can bet your life Hetherington & Macdermott would be shouting loud & bullying the "toad hall" buffoons for some consistent adjudication. In fact they've been doing it recently defending that obnoxious lout Hardaker at every turn.

If this was in the NRL every top legal bod from coffs to cape york would be consulted and the media used effectively for some positive spin. Russell Crowe would be marching through Redfern ala George Piggins threatening gladiatorial vengeance! What did we witness yesterday? I got so pissed listening to sky sports news i went to sky news to see if ISIL had retaken headlines from the demon Flower, only to be confronted by Wigan lass Kay Burley spurting shiiiite about him as well!!!!!

To my mind the ban for Ben is irrelevant now,its a sham show trial decided by a bollox organisation that couldn't run a piss up on King street, let alone lead our fantastic game in this country.
Months or games ban for Ben is neither here nor there to me,what i want is someone from Wigan RLFC to come out on mine & other disgruntled fans behalf & demand some realistic punishment for the initial offence by ho-aroo or whatever his handle is to be properly punished with a sentence befitting of his serious attack and instigation of the whole sorry affair.

I want them to complain about the diabolical refereeing of the whole incident from pitch level to video ref (exactly what were those mugs looking at?) or were they watching last years RFL xmas party DVD at the time?

Instead of cosying up with & positively agreeing with any old rubbish doled out in our direction by other clubs, the RFL,Ruperts media trash, i want to see our glorious leadership challenge the nonsense!. Can you imagine Sir Alex in this position?,the first microphone or camera shoved in his face, looking for a grovelling apology over the incident & some grateful acceptance of the ludicrous sentencing, would have been rammed so far up the individuals a***,you would need a top surgeon with a GPS to retrieve it!!!!

Its pointless whining & whinging about always getting the crap end of the stick from hapless refs like bent man & useless judiciaries,if we simply roll over & take their nonsense instead of actually disagreeing forcefully & pro actively on the occasions when we have been duly stitched, like this!. Wigan RLFC are the biggest name in the game & our inglorious leadership need to take a leaf from the Govan masterclass when it comes to defending your history in public. What you say behind closed doors is private but in public you give not an inch when theres a hint of being wronged. Real Leaders set the example others can only aspire to,yes men & a*** lickers don't belong in that position of responsibility!

Instead of moaning on here or in the pub when Mr L does nothing, hit him hard where it hurts most & organise a fans protest by non attendance en mass for first home game next season. Maybe then he might think twice if we ever get royally shafted like this,on or off the field in future.

As to Ben,i personally think he was one of our best forwards this season & many others do to. Talk of selling him in the wake of this is utter tripe, maybe he should look at exploring some old loopholes ala messrs Roach,Boyd etc in the past?
Im sure Madge could use him to help fill the Burgess void for a few months at the Bunnies? & he would return to us in even better shape, then again he might just decide to stay down there with the marsupials given the Kangaroo court he suffered here!
