Begs the question is Gels better on the right or the left. Touch of Gene Miles in that pass. Budgie will be great in the NRL. Try was great but what really impresses is how he sometimes supports a player with the ball and then literally hits a pass / tip on akin to a crash ball. Budgie is up with the best modern day wingers IMo (or will be)

Trolling again WW.

Apologies I didn't get my Leave Of Absence Form to you in time, but I'm back at work now. Didn't even realise it was Thursday yesterday, never mind Wigan playing. Thankfully remembered my boy's birthday though.

This job does that to you. Working 11 hours every day until 31 August, very much like Groundhog Day.
Hopefully that suffices the site's SUPER FAN, if you like I could get a letter from my boss.

Anyway, what a result, hopefully get the highlights on Wigan TV, if the internet is strong enough.

On a more serious note, I'd like to get in my end of season nomination for Super Fan Of The Year, early. Perhaps we could all chip-in and by a trophy/shield/medal for WW? Maybe also, a high-viz vest so that he can be easily identifiable at all grounds, training sessions, junior matches.
I knew my comment to Josie would prompt you to come out of the woodwork with you usual sarcastic comments.

And it makes a nice change for you to come out with a positive comment for change.

As for wearing a viz vest, I look forward to the day when I see you wearing one at a game to confirm that you actually attend live games if and when you are on your 90 days in our country.

Until then, carry on sunbathing, but don't get the laptop wet!

p.s. Not a Superfan, just a normal run of the mill active one!

Burgess' reading of situations in a game belies his age. After his shocking start to the season (which he said he was trying to hard to impress and make things happen every time he had the ball) he has settled into playing a game that is so natural to him. I hope he is a massive success in the NRL, I'm sure he will be, but the winger who has to fill his boots for us has a daunting task.
On a side note, Mattys goal kicking was good last night and it'll need to be going into the 8s/play offs/grand final (hopefully).

For one of the few times this season, you could truly say - That was a Wigan performance.
No weak links and the word 'ruthless' was thrown around a lot - good, that's what we should be.
I thought the right axis of Charnley, Bateman and Tomkins was hugely impressive.
Perhaps Dom is looking for an advertising contract with Players Navy Cut.
And didn't Eddie go on and on about all Matty Smith's conversions being in front of goal. Not like the Blessed St Kevin, of course.
If we can keep repeating this performance, then we will be back to being a proper Wigan team and can go forward with a bit more confidence,

What about the try from Williams?

Best footwork since Jason Robinson?

Pleasure to watch.

Maybe Sam Powell can play Hooker after all he had a stormer last night and reminded me of Roby with his scoots and tough defence. I still say he's a seven but he was immense last night. Gelling was the star of the show for me and Joel got through some good work too. Now which fool said Williams was too tired and needed a rest??? He didn't look tired to me when he scored yet another long range try. There's been a lot of knockers of George on here and it reminds me of when probably the same lot where slating Gelling week in week out, now he's GOD! George is the future of England I saw enough last year to convince me of this lets get behind him people he's Wigan Born And
Bred!

Oh and the result well it was a poor show from hull but we can only beat what is put in front of us and the pleasing thing is we put on some new moves and they worked a treat I guess that will keep CP quiet for a day or two.

What a difference a week makes...

Just a thought... I wonder if the majority of people who were around me at Widnes in the first game of the season still think we should put Burgess 'on the next plane to Aus' :eh:

Too true its funny listening to some fans rants when they have never actually played the game themselves. It's all about the glamour side of the game for some fans like who's scoring the tries or making the breaks but the tough side of the game like the dominant tackles and the try saves seem to go unnoticed.
