That a dig at me??

For the record I did not go and could not go but in WW that means I am not a supporter - who gives toss what that deluded guy thinks?

Josie I am not am not having a dig at anyone who went to the game but the op who was digging at those who chose not to as if it was "no big thing" for going to Doncaster on a Friday night

DaveO is correct in his post (as per usual)

Anyone who did not attend without a good reason of something more important or a genuine work commitment should be ashamed to call themselves a supporter.

All my working life, I have always made a effort to attend a special game, especially a Challenge Cup Semi Final, even it it meant booking a day's holiday or swapping a shift at work.

Fickle is the only word to describe many of our so called supporters today and I blame it it on our club having to many games on television which has made many supporters less inclined to make the effort.
I have always prided myself in not getting into arguments on this forum and respected other posters but after reading this post I will break my rule and tell you you are a pillock.

No BM, I wasn't having a go at you at all.

I totally understand the predicaments that some supporters have in getting not only to away games but home games too, especially the Thursday night games.

I don't criticise them. I just don't take too kindly to the people calling the fans that did go on Friday,

And yes, DaveO's post is spot on.

That is fair enough Josie

I do think however, that the RFL have done everything in their power to make things "difficult" for Wigan fans to go to matches like these over the years in order for the gloating we see now about "how poorly Wiganers support the team"

Even from Yorkshire sides increasing their entrance fee just because it was Wigan.

Been going on for years and I think some fans have decided in the current economic climate that the p-taking has to end or you end up with what you saw last night and fans like you battling to get home after such a disappointing outcome

You are suppose to follow your club through thick and thin. The vast majority of sporting teams are unsuccessful. Whatever happened to the spirit of 2006. I seem to remember attendances rose that year.
2006 side could score tries this once can not. Once it stopped leaking tries I was so gutted knowing that side should have won the GF but was lucky to escape relegation.

Southern Softy wrote:The RFL not conspiracy but cock-up. I appreciate there are problems with dual-use stadia as the football season gets closer but playing it at Doncaster was equivalent to the FA playing a Cup semi-final at Derby or Coventry. They may (or may not) be adequate bit you just wouldn't go there.

I'm sure Elland Road would have been delighted to get a big fee and everyone can name other grounds. The game may be professional but I'm not convinced the RFL is.

Even London on a Sunday with free transport would have been better than a new(ish) shed in South Yorkshire.

10,488 for a CC semi-final - ludicrous.
I would like to think cock up BUT even the RFL are not that stupid. Notice how Hull FC tow the RFL party line

I managed to go , don't have to try and book leave from work anymore fortunately , not going to criticise people for not going , I firmly believe it was all part of an RFL hidden agenda to get other teams to the final , it worked , was thinking during the first half what an achievement it would be to win there with a 4-1 against crowd.
It was not to be , best team won , two soft try's , we could have won.
Just imagine the reaction from Yorkshire if that game was held at St Helens for instance
All water under the bridge now , can we regroup whilst Hull and Wire go toe to toe , don't know , we will see

Last night was my third away game of the season and I went primarily because my mate has just come over from Tenerife. My previous trips were to Catalan and St Helens, both for the craic. As a ST Holder I have attended every home game to make sure I get my money's worth.

How that ranks me as a supporter on a scale of 1-10 is a matter of supreme indifference to me. I do what I want when I want and couldn't give a flying one what Whelley Warrior or anyone else thinks!

If you are referring to me, I have never said that you are not a supporter.

And I am not the only one to have a go at those who did not go to Doncaster, so why make the reference about WW.

This is not a dig, but if you hadn't have commented on those that didn't go, of which I was one, you wouldn't have been a not the only one but a not one! And that's the rub!!
Do you get my jist?
