The last time I went to Cas I met the lovely Maxine Peake at half-time and chatted to her in the beer queue all interval. She was so nice. Got back to my mate as the second half started: "You'll never guess who I've just been chatting to...!" Local (ish) girl, of course. Bolton, I think.
Aye, Westhoughton. Played for Wigan Ladies RL in her teens I think.

Slightly O/T - Hampshire was really impressive for Cas last night. Could be he has found his best place on the wing - maybe with Dom at centre next season? Gelling fans, don't all post at once.
So we are going to move one of the best wingers in SL out of position to accommodate a player that has had a couple of good games on the wing for a different team? A team he is playing for because he didn't want to play out of position for Wigan?

And, to be fair, he did score two tries, but yer granny could have scored the second.

He's not in Denny Solomona's class yet!

It was just a thought, based on the fact that one of the best wingers in SL seems to spend most of his life waiting for a pass that never comes. I don't see that much is going to change and he'll still be waiting for passes this time next season. What he is, however, is immensely powerful and I wouldn't mind seeing him more involved in our general play.

Maybe not, although Solomona doesn't look half the player he did at the start of he season and he may have been found out a bit.
I'm not a great fan of Hampshire (purely because I've never seen him do that well on the pitch) but his first try was outstanding and he seized control to give Gale a crucial try from broken play just before half-time. As he is coming back to us, let's see if we can maybe use him to his best potential, which seems on the evidence of the last month or so, to be on the wing.

I didn't see anything new attacking-wise. Looked the same as usual, just done faster and with more vim and vigour. That was more than enough to blow a poor side away, but it won't be enough against the better sides.

Nevertheless it must be good to remember how to score tries from distance again.

And Mossop played as well as any of the props - but you don't really think he was awful do you Medlocke?

The key will be v good opposition can we dominate in and around the POTB in bothattack and defence BUT most importantly ATTACK. As it currently stands we hve our set exit plays where a child can tell you who will make the hit up which v better opposition is currently putting us on the back foot. No team was amazing but Saints, Wire, Hull and Cas all seem far better at the POTB hard yards. I do not buy any radical change, not will team selection change. Wane believes his game plan is far superior to any other SL club and that any defeat is the players fault NEVER his.
