Ive ben calling for a challenge type system of the Video Ref like in tennis, i believe they may have trialled this in the NRL recently? i think its a much better idea. Give both captains 3 challenges to be used for calls but only for try decisions, and ban the VR for being involved in any other decision.

I think that the sport has lost a bit of its character too - i mean in the past you had your big Big men like Cowie, Skerrett et al, and you saw them trundle the ball up with vigour - they then fed it to a whippet winger like robinson and you admired the difference

now its like 13 2nd rowers on the field, i know it shouldn't but for me that steals some of the entertainment value

Firstly, I don't listen Bilko on radio but I follow him on Twitter. I respect his passion and agree with a lot of his points, I too have become disillusioned with the game in general. I gave up my season ticket 4 yrs ago although I still try to do the grand final and Wembley weekend no matter who is in the finals, the game has reached a watershed moment in my opinion. Most teams now play unattractive rugby with 5 drives and a kick, relying on a winger dropping the ball under pressure rather than attacking skills.
The fans need to vote with their feet, stop filling the RFL cash cow with the annual farce of the now "Super 8's" if we don't go they won't make money and they will have to change it.
The challenge cup needs to move back to a May final, the season could start with the early rounds instead of friendlies. Part of the rules to being a Super League club should be that you have to run u19's and an A team comp where you can blood kids from the 16's to the 18's and 18's to A team with the fringe first team players getting a decent level of rugby in credible A team comp. Foreign players should be restricted too, teams like Hull are exploiting the loophole of the emerging nations rule signing so called South sea islanders who if good enough and given a chance would probably nail their caps on the Aussie international squad. Catalan seem to be exempt from cap rules also with the RFL intent on spreading the comp.
By and large summer rugby is better than the old winter comp, standing on the terrace on a sunny Sunday afternoon would be great but due to the RFL being spineless we let Sky dictate when we play, so it's Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Only the team & fans will suffer if we did that. I want to support my team in good times & bad. If that makes me a "blinkered happy clapper" .......so be it

I completely agree, it's a farce that there is only one proper competition, U19's, they are still kids & at 19/20 are really not ready for SL, they've not enough experience IMO! They need to get back the U21's competition. The Reserves is a waste of time because not all SL clubs have a reserve side!!

I said before the season started, that with the players Hull FC have signed, they would win something especially with the overseas signings. How many have they got now?

Apologies for doing a DaveO reply it's the only way I could reply to the parts of the post I wanted to ????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
